  • Illuminated display is a real plus!
All the industrial electrical suppliers were back ordered for months. Amazon shipped the tester immediately and I received it in two days. The tester comes with a button to illuminate the display so the tester is easy to read in dark locations such as in electric panels. The current reading works well but accompanying voltage reading while reading current doesn't always work. There is a metal contact on the back of the tester that one is supposed to touch as the testers ground reference but touching the metal contact will often not give a voltage reading. No problem as current is what I am interested in. I always use the tester's probes to measure voltage. The tester is perfect for an industrial, trouble-calls, controls electrician. ... show more

  • Awesome!!
I buy fluke for all my testing needs. Fluke never disappoints and they last. I absolutely love this new meter. Non contact voltage and amp probe readings using the fork? Awesome! And it performs as advertised. Using the touch feature and your body for grounding when trying to get a non contact voltage reading does work but in some instances it gives an inaccurate reading but who cares a seasoned electrician knows what's what. The finger grounding is a cool feature but with so many variables on site (soiled fingers, insulated boots and more) it can be a little innacurate in some instances but that could be the way the system is wired . Not to worry, Use the ground clamp probe for non contact voltage readings and it hits the mark every time. The back light is well illuminated and a welcome upgrade from my older T5-1000. Compact, robust, packed with features some older and some new (non contact voltage readings), what's not to like? Also capable of giving accurate non contact frequency readings, how did Fluke swing that? Again very pleased with this new meter. ... show more

  • Great product.
As an actual electrician, I think this is brilliant. Now I can check voltages without having to take wire nuts apart. Anytime I can lessen exposure to energized conductors is a win in my book. All the comments about the field sense readings are amusing. Any electrician in the field will be wearing non conductive boots (EH footwear.) Maybe even be on a fiberglass ladder. Which is also non conductive. I will never be a good path to ground (for good reason) and will always be using the black test lead for a ground reference. That will be the best way to get an accurate reading. Johnny IBEW48 Portland. ... show more

  • Time will tell
I was scared to order this thing but I've found it works well. Not super accurate with just the no touch but dead accurate with the no touch and the black probe alligator clamped to ground. Simple and easy to use. Will update after more testing.

  • I really like the meter a lot but the voltage sense needs ...
I really like the meter a lot but the voltage sense needs some more work to make it work better. the ground button on the back doesn't provide a good ground so you most likely will not get good voltage readings. If you use the ground probe it works better. I ordered the alligator clips so I don't have to hold the probe on the ground. Next thing is you have to be in the exact middle of the red area to get a reading. That is kinda hard to do with such a deep opening. It would be nice if you just had to be in the red zone like the directions say. I think most of the time I am going to have to use the probes when in a panel because there is not enough slack in the wires to use the voltage sense. Still this is a good meter. To bad they didn't make it in the USA. I will update the review as I use it more and if the $38 clamps help with the ground issue. ... show more

What is there to dislike? Virtually every tool you need for a thoorough basic and quick analysis in fault finding. It's all here in one tool! Iv'e used the precuser for around 15years & would have bet my Trade Certification on it, however this is another light year ahead! Non contact volts/ Amps & Hertz, probeless readings..... Fluken Fantastic! I so seldom now need to pull out my Fluke Clamp meter or Fluke Instrumentation meter that they look clean & nearly new! ... show more

  • Most have for the trades
Great price and good value. Meter takes some getting use to , I’m unable to speak for those having trouble with field sense but you must have a good ground by touching ground with your other hand and also not to touch the wire you are trying to measure because you will not get readings. Quick for getting in and out for troubleshooting, the fact you do not need to pull off wire nuts or disconnect wires for testing saves time and is safe. This device you definitely have to adjust your use personal use in the field however I can tell you a majority of the negative reviews stem from user error and understanding when and how to use it. The T6-1000 and my 116 is my goto for 90% of the work I do in HVAC/Appliance/electrical repair and diagnostics. Don’t let the negative reviews sway you from purchasing it because it’s a game changing device. It’s just a tool the user has to be the judge when and how to use it. ... show more

  • Great Product, Great Time Saver
Outstanding product. Don't bother with the touch contact point on the back, use your black lead for ground/neutral, and make sure the wire you are reading is centered at the bottom of the U notch, and you will not be disappointed. Voltage measurements were generally within 3-4 volts of what I measured with the leads, on both 480VAC and 120VAC. Frequency measurements were spot on. Great product, great time saver. ... show more
