    • Ease of use and accessories is the reason I bought this one and it worked great this last winter...
Ease of use and accessories make this a must have for a do it yourselfer when it comes to HVAC. Whether you're just checking a flame sensor or diagnosing whether it's a faulty gas valve. In fact, the very reason I bought it was because it has micro amps that can help diagnose the flame sensor. I have also used this in diagnosing and repairing clothes dryers. Mark's Tip: Check the connector on your flame sensor and buy one of those. Then take an alligator clip and some wire and make a connector that you can stick onto your flame sensor and clip the alligator clip onto the test lead. This makes a very safe way to check a flame sensor without having to stick your hand into the furnace. ... show more

Both meters feel great in the hands. The clamp meter feels nicer than the Klein Clamp meter I bought last year. The test leads are very nice. Actually need to replace them due to grounding the red one out between a 480v spade connector and the frame of a RTU, but the prong and the meter kept on doing its job after that event. Not so much for the 60A fuse. The only down side is I wish the clamp meter had a holder for one of the leads to help free up you're hands when doing readings, like the multimeter has. All in all, I will definitely be looking into getting the more expensive units some where down the line. ... show more

    • Amp clamp does not do DC current!
First off, this kit is awesome if you buy it for the right purpose. Good deal, very high quality equipmemt for the money. I bought it to use it for my college automotive degree without spending the big bucks on the Fluke 88. I was extremely happy with it when i got it, and had no issues until i attempted to use the clamp on a 12v system. While the clamp will do DC VOLTAGE, it will not do DC CURRENT. I did not read carefully enough upon purchase, and the clamp/DMM combo was the only reason i bought the kit. There's no use saving money if you can't use it! Even though i had already thrown away the box and packaging, Amazon did a return for me. I will be shopping Fluke again in the future, quality was not an issue. ... show more

The meters are expensive to be sure. I have tried to use other name brand meters because of the cost of Fluke meters. They do not measure up. Fluke has more up to date meters. But for every day use in the field these work very well. If cost did not matter Fluke would be my first choice all the time.
