This flush valve seal cost almost $8 but my water bill was more than $10 above normal for months, so it payed for itself in no time. The toilet was phantom flushing even though it was only 3 years old. After trying everything else, I purchased this seal. It fits the Fluidmaster 400 flapper perfectly. Installation was easy. Total time was less than 5 minutes. After inspecting the old seal I found the problem; two bubbles had formed which prevented a perfect seal. Have the American Standard Champion 4. The toilet would keep refilling. After looking at it, the water in the tank would drain into the bowl until it dropped a couple of inches, then it would refill. I watched the one posted video review and followed the instructions. So easy, and just as the video said, the seal had bubbled up and it no longer held a tight seal. The original seal got the blisters of doom and we didn't know until the water utility sent us a leak detected warning. This seal fit perfectly and worked just fine. Don't know about longevity yet but so far a few months.

My toilet flush was slowly leaking and setting off the refill. every few hours I replaced the seal with this one and the leaking slowed to a refill every 6-8 hours. I called American Standard and they asked "what color is the seal". I said blue. They said only use their "New Improved Red seal". I ordered one and it stopped the leaking! You want model 7301111-0070AP not the same model number ending just with "A". This is one of those cases where you might as well go with a Factory replacement. part. Works for a short period of time. We have already needed to replace this ring a few times, but ultimately, it works fine until you hear running water again. Seal could use a little upgrade to ensure it fits better with the overall toilet unit. Slight leakage, but manageable.
