I thought the pills were spoiled by the heat and called up Life Extension. Turns out they have a capsule inside a capsule - and that's why it looked like the probiotic had coagulated. Their listing is rather confusing as it describes the pills as liquid - but then mentions a problem with the powder? Anyway, my very excellent integrative doctor prescribed these in particular, and so I hope they are effective. This product is short-dated and is defective. Not eligible for return. VERY disappointed. the outer capsules have lost about half the oil that keeps the inner capsule fresh. When you open the inner capsule, you find that the probiotic powder inside has discolored and is obviously not fresh.
