My first impression of the packaging was it was shipped in a thick plastic that would not be easy to puncture to protect the rug from damage that was also taped in the thick plastic. There is no need to worry about the rug being damaged in transit by getting wet or dirty. My first impression of the rug was that it was plush and had long fibers, but I could still see the bottom when bending the rug back. However, when laid flat the rug remained plush and thick. You were not able to see the backing at all. The only thing I didn't like was the synthetic fibers give a roughness to the material. Not a deal breaker but just worth noting if you are looking for a super soft rug. After living with it for 1 day I didn't even notice it anymore. This was just under my initial inspection of the rug. The positive side to the synthetic material is it will be more likely to resist stains and make for easy cleanup. I do like that the rug is plush under foot. It doesn't feel loose or sparse, it is a firm plush. The rug does not need any special backing to keep it from moving around. I have it on top of tile flooring and it has not moved at all. Of course, this is not in a high traffic area. I'm not sure if that would make a difference or not. There is no chemical smell. To me, it only smelled like brand new carpet which I happen to enjoy the smell of anyway. And it diminished after a day. The shag hairs are approximately 1.75" high from the bottom of the rug and holding the fibers up against a ruler. And without holding straight up, they are about 1.5". All in all, I think that this is a very nice rug and after the first day it began to grow on me. After the 3rd day, I simply love it. I have never owned a shag rug before so I was a little hesitant but now I couldn't be any happier. It does not shed, it does not move or slide around on my floors, and it vacuums without any problems. My cat likes to sleep on it. This small carpet is very soft and you can put in the washer and stay like new. The reason I give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is because doesn’t have any cushion it's very thin. Other than that, it’s a good product.

This is a very interesting item. I was thinking it would come rolled up as has any other rug I’ve ever bought in life. No. It arrived in a rather small box. I thought for sure I had been sent the wrong item. I took a picture of the box, and then the package of the rug itself on top of my microwave, for scale. To show you exactly how thin and small the package itself is. While the rug is very thin, it actually doesn’t look that thin because of how fluffy it is. Some said there was an odor. This one has no odor. I’m not sure that I would describe it as “tie-dye“. It just looks like darker in places than others, as if it’s been rushed around with your hand. I only bought this to put in a small sitting room. It’s extremely soft and fluffy. For the price, I have to say it’s fine. For what I paid, I’m very happy with the item.

Came with 5 holes from the underpad completely through into the carpet itself. I vacuumed to get rid of wrinkles and the carpeting came out. Filled an entire canister of debris. This thing reeks of chemicals. It's so slippery, I can't walk on it barefoot or with socks or I slip n fall. It was supposed to be a 5x8 rug. It's an entire 13 inches smaller. I HATE THIS THING. I'm not even bothering returning this because it's the same amount for landscaping fabric. Yes, I will be using this rug as a weed barrier and bury this because I FREAKIN HATE THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE SO MUCH. 0/5 STARS. Do. Not. Buy. By far, the worse thing I've ever bought on Amazon. Booooo!!!

Love this rug. They say it’s tie dyed but it’s more variations of light gray. Short shag. Super soft. Plus, it has a rubber backing so it doesn’t move. Got this one for the bedroom. Buying another one for the living room. Too soon to tell how well it will hold up over time.
