I have a lot of experience with escs, brushless motors and lithium batteries. I’m also an electrician / electronics technician with too many years of experience. So basically what I’m saying is that I’m well qualified to leave this review. I’ve been into the electric RC plane hobby before lithium batteries were introduced, switched back and forth to high powered, high speed drones and helicopters. I also have been into modifying ex rental electric scooters into high speed suicide machines. The hub motors in these scooters are seriously underrated,underutilized. Im exploited this fact. Originally I’ve went through several different VESC based controllers during this quest. In the beginning I went through two of the original FSESC 75/100s with a 13s6p battery. these worked but quickly overheated suffering from bad thermal design. I then moved to a few different models of VESC controllers. The FSESC 4.2 mini was limited to 12s but I pushed the limits and ran on 13s. Worked well but again, thermal issues at 3KW. Moved onto a FSESC 6.6 pro. No thermal issues, worked very well at 13s but of course I wanted more speed. Only way is higher voltage or so I thought. I ordered this controller. I removed the 6.6 and installed the 75/100 pro. Fortunately this has built in Bluetooth so I can easily set up motor with VESC tool on my phone. Updated firmware to 6.02. Connected again, first and important step is to disable filters!!! I then Ran the FOC wizard.. Afterwards I still needed to change a few settings. Increased motor current to 120A . Motor brake to -60A. Absolute max current to 200A, Battery max to 120A and regen current to-60A. For hub motors I recently found that changing sensored erpm to 50 and sensorless to 500 makes a HUGE difference in how the motor runs. Had to set up the ADC for throttle and brake. Afterwards I was ready to go. I have to say, Never have I had such a smooth running motor. This is especially important because it occurred after the first setup! Typically I need to make many many tweaks through VESC tool and still It was never as good as I achieved after the first ever setup!!! I achieved almost 50mph on a slight hill. Torque is insane as well. Extraordinary considering the voltage and it was on a stock scooter except for the controller and a motor that is vented for extra cooling! No, I’m absolutely not being paid or compensated to write this. I genuinely am very impressed by this controller. My next thing will be to try 16s, eventually up to 18s. I can’t even imagine the speed. EDIT #2.. Im up to 19s right now. All else is the same. 50mph flat land with no wind!! 3500W No, I'm not delusional or exaggerating. Pretty amazing considering its basically a ex rental... I do have to admit that after pushing it hard for a while my MOSFET temps rise to the point of thermal throttling... I didn't pay attention to thermals during installation, the controller is just free-floating in a small space with no airflow. This can probably be easily mitigated by attaching the heatsink to an even bigger heatsink. Basically thermal epoxy to the scooter's aluminum frame. Since I don't have a temp sensor on my motor the MOS temp throttling may in a way be a good thing as it helps limit my motor from burning! ... show more

I used this in a custom electric scooter build. Once you figure out the inputs and outputs, it’s pretty straightforward to get working. I run it at about 1500W, and it does great at delivering power and regen smoothly at all speeds. The VESC platform is great, and is super configurable. This even has a Bluetooth module, so you can adjust it from a phone (with the VESC app) if you want. Highly recommended for any PEV project. ... show more

Works like a charm, people say flipsky is worse than vesc but in reality it's perfectly fine. I'm using this for a robotics project, so it's under far less load than an electric skateboard. In the past, I have worked with flipsky ESCs that have lasted 5+ years

This is a great compact controller that packs a punch and can handle 20S battery applications. Setup was no problem, other than the controller did not like my temp sensor being hooked up for some reason. Tuning has been fairly straight forward, other than I am having some issues getting the throttle to be super responsive like other controllers I have put on my bike. Might just need to soak more time into it or do some research to learn more about the controller and tuning it. I have same brand controller in 2 esk8s and those are very snappy and responsive. Maybe my throttle might be causing some issues. ... show more

love the Bluetooth capabilities especially to read the RT Data well worth the money. there is though a quirk in the temp hall sensors in firmware but other then that works amazing
