I bought this tank stand for my 75 gallon terrarium and I'm glad I did. I love the way it looks in my dining room. The best part about it is it's sturdiness and the amount of storage it has. 2 full size cabinets, each with a shelf in it and then also another shelf in between the cabinets. Another good thing is that you're able to reach right through the back of it, so that you can easily plug all your cords in. I put the majority of the stand together by myself (which I'm a 5'5, 130lb female). Only at the very end I needed some help from my boyfriend. It took me about roughly an hour to put the whole thing together. The assembly directions were pretty easy to understand. I would definitely recommend purchasing this tank stand to anyone who's looking for one that's real sturdy and has a lot of storage space and at the same time adds a nice touch to your home.     • Do not buy awful product 2x over priced!
This was one of those purchases I thought if I paid a little more, I would get better quality. Straight out of the box I knew I got taken. But I don't have to time to box it all up and send it back, so I went with it. Paint job is just thin a coat of color. Paint flaking off in the box. Now that it's put together, I'm afraid to breath on it. Every day I look at it and some more paints just worn off. Don't dare get it wet. Really cheap Materials and Construction was awful. Directions left you figuring out what to do next. It goes together using gimble and pin construction and cheap screws like Ikea. A lot of the holes didn't line up and the pins didn't tighten up all the way pulling the pieces together like they should. The only way I felt safe about the construction was shoring it up with more screws and L brackets inside top and bottom. Durable? not a chance for a fish tank stand, I'm in shock and awe at the good reviews, can't believe I own it. If I'd seen it before I bought it, I never would have. Shame on me for buying something like this online and listening to the good reviews. I hope you listen to mine. ... show more

So like others I read the reviews first and seemed like some people were saying the stand wouldn't line up right or the instructions aren't clear. Lots of great reviews too though so I took a chance and purchased it. My husband and I put it together in a little over an hour (he really did like 80% of the work while I helped put screws in a few pieces and held things when they needed to be pushed together). We aren't mechanically inclined but we've put together a fair amount of furniture in our time together. We could see where people might have thought things were not drilled right too because the stand uses PILOT holes instead of pre drilled ones in a lot of places. It's like this so when you screw it in, the fit will be VERY tight (after all it's holding a 200lb+ aquarium so you want this). DO NOT OPEN UP THE PILOT HOLES BEFORE PUTTING IN THE SCREWS OR THE STAND WONT BE STABLE! Also, doing this typically voids the warranty on any fish tank because you've "modified" the stand. As to the instructions, the only part you have to pay VERY close attention to because it's not super clear is the middle where you first start putting pieces together after putting in some screws. Take your time and read it and it will be fine. To make sure everything lays flat, MAKE SURE you put your screws in VERY straight. Also to get the top down all the way we used a rubber mallet and gave it a few whacks to make sure everything was nice and snug. All in all, I'm very happy with it. First, I did not have any issue with assembly, though the instructions are not detailed. If you're someone who struggles with assembling knock down furniture, you will struggle with this. I groups three to four steps at a time in one picture with no written instructions. Second, for me, all holes lined up correctly. However, I did have the same problem some mentioned where the F panels were too short. This can be solved in a couple of ways. First, make sure the gap is in the bottom where you can use the screws to offset the pieces by simply not tightening fully (it will be plenty strong this way). The top is the captive bolt and there can be no play. The other option is to shim the gap in the bottom and fully tighten the screws. I think I will go back and do this just to take some of the slight wobble out of the stand. Third, my doors had some imperfections, places where the black coating was worn off (easily touched up with some black satin paint). This is duet to the way it is packaged and I imagine most people will have this issue. The doors are the larges pieces in the box and because of this, they used them as top and bottom protection for the rest of the pieces. All good except the door fronts face in and they rub on the other pieces as they shift around slightly in transport. Not a huge deal for me as I said, it's easy to touch up. However, yours might have more damage so I wanted to warn you. Overall, I would recommend this stand as it is a nice classic furniture look where most others these days are modern looking. Fast delivery and great product. Was packed real nice and love the way all the parts where put in separate compartments. Made this so much nicer. Would say this is a bit of a challenge to put together but had to take time and get creative to be able to put it together myself. But no big deal. Once done wiped it down. Is really worth the money.
