Mixed Neocaridina Shrimp are popular among the shrimp hobby and are great for beginners! 10 shrimps per gallon is usually the recommended rule. Neocaridina Shrimp are hardy, non-aggressive and spend most of their time eating algae and biofilm off plants, glass, and substrate, making them an awesome clean up crew for your tank. Simply dechlorinate clean tap water or RO water, cycle your tank with some plants and your new shrimp colony has the opportunity to thrive. Please do keep in mind to avoid using tap water that is heavy in metals or chemicals that are not healthy for your shrimp. Please make sure that all foods or aquarium fertilizers are shrimp-safe when dosing your tanks. Proper Tank Parameters for a successful Neocaridina colony: Temperature: 65-80F pH 6.5-8 TDS 170-250 ppm GH 5.5-8 Quality Shrimp Breeding: We will provide you with a healthy ratio of females to male shrimp so you can have your own colony that can take off! Try to keep different colors of neocaridina separate to maintain offspring color and purity. Inbreeding different species types can result in a duller “brown” colored offspring. Each of our shrimp are high grade shrimps with genetic lineages tracing from award winning breeders in Taiwan. Shrimp Food: There are many shrimp foods out on the market. They do well with dry foods such as fish flakes(without metals) or fresh vegetables such as boiled spinach. Please boil any fresh vegetables and let air-cool before placing in tank for sterilization purposes. Decorate your tank: Neocaridina shrimp LOVE grazing on different types of plants such as java moss, taiwan moss, fissidens, bucephalandra, java fern. Baby shrimps also like grazing on floating plants such as dwarf water lettuce, Salvinia minima, and Frogbit.

Update 27 June: Our first female has started to carry her eggs! Almost all of the shrimp turned out to be females. We have 1 male red and two male yellow out of twenty shrimp received. This leaves only the 4 blue in question, as they stay just out of sight so I'm not sure yet. The only orange and white striped shrimp is a female ❤️ Update 23 June: The shrimp have grown larger and more interactive. I see saddles forming, so I think there were a lot of females! ❤️ They have had no issues with being in a guppy tank (70 gallons). I see now that there were at least 4 of each color, except the one which was yellow at the head and tail and clear in the middle. I haven't seen that one again, but I know it's in there! All 20 shrimp arrived healthy, even with an unexpected delay by UPS. They did not have any trouble with quickly acclimating to new water. The plant was healthy, too. I received a great variety of colors. One deep cherry and several varieties of yellow, orange, and blue. I enjoy watching them eat ❤️ ... show more

UPDATE::: I’ve had my shrimp for about a month now. And I’m excited to say that they are thriving and breeding. I noticed babies yesterday!!! The adults have been very hardy, and are loving their planted aquarium! I’m adding new pics with a couple of tiny babies I zoomed in on and my tank. As long as you have the correct water parameters, temperatures and lots of hiding places, these guys thrive! I’m not disappointed in my purchase at all. :::: I really like the shrimp. I thought they would be packaged in insulated foam around the bag. But was fit snug in the shipping box. I ordered 20, received 19 with one DOA on arrival. But the company did a partial refund. That was excellent. And they added a little plant and a screen in with the bag for their travel. I slow dripped acclimated and when done, added them to my tank. They went straight to exploring and forging. I lost 1 this morning. Not bad at all. I was worried I would lose more. Happily I didn’t. I will order again in the future. ... show more

So far, the shrimp seem to be doing fine. I was very careful to slowly acclimate them to the water in my fish tank. Why only 4 stars? Even though the shrimp are beautiful, and the little extra plant was a very appreciated surprise, I was honestly quite concerned when the package arrived because the box was extremely wet. I was afraid the shrimp might already be dead when I opened it. Fortunately, it appeared that the extra bag containing the plant had leaked and emptied inside the box. Although there was some cushioning material included, it did not do much good because one side of the bags was left without proper protection. I was therefore not very happy with the packaging, as it definitely could have been done better. That being said, as I mentioned in the beginning, the shrimp seem healthy so far, and the extra plant was a thoughtful touch. ... show more
