This blanket is so plush & luxurious! It's incredibly soft & fluffy! The texture of the furry material feels like Velour, like crushed velvet. The blanket itself is quite lightweight overall, but very, very warm! While shopping on Amazon, initially I was debating on whether I should get this blanket, or buy a Vellux brand blanket instead. I'm so glad I decided on this one, because it doesn't have that stiff foam feeling to it, like Vellux blankets have, and it was half the price! I got the Queen sized/Dark Charcoal color blanket for $18.99 at the time, which is an unbelievable price for the amazing quality! This blanket fits over our Queen sized bed with *plenty* of overhang on all 4 sides, so no body parts are exposed, (unless you're like me & need one foot out at all times, to regulate body temp lol). The generous sizing on this blanket means you won't ever have to engage in midnight tug-of-war, over the covers, with your partner. When I received this blanket, it came tightly rolled up, compressed in plastic, and packaged in a retail box from the manufacturer. The blanket fluffed up immediately after I unrolled it, but there was a slight factory smell. I launder ALL new linens before use, so that's exactly what I did with this. I tossed it in the washer (with a comforter) on my machine's 'beddings' setting, then immediately placed that load into the dryer on medium heat. The instructions on this blanket say to 'hang dry'... but honestly, who has time for that? (especially in the winter!) This blanket comes out perfect from a machine wash & dry cycle - no bleeding/fading of the color, no shedding/pilling of the material, no shrinking of the size, and no static or scorching from the dryer. One other thing I have noticed is the plushy material of this bedspread *really* absorbs & holds on to the smell of my fabric softener between washings, and I LOVE that!! Buying this blanket was both the best & worst decision I've made for my adult self. I love the feeling of being all wrapped up in the layers of soft fur - warm, safe, secure. I'm able to relax & fall asleep, faster than before. But now all I wanna do is hibernate in my cozy cocoon... so I struggle to get out of bed, now more than ever! Use at your own risk, but also highly recommend! :D

For the price, $25, I was afraid I made a mistake by being a cheapo but I was very pleasantly surprised. It's just as advertised. Very soft, medium-heavy, very comfortable and it does keep me warm. I hate being cold and I'm very happy with it. I'd buy another one.

Update 2 months later (previous review at bottom): The blanket hasn't peeled much since when I first got it. It is still soft and I am still using this even though it's summer. The weather has been hitting mid 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the evening lately but this is one of the few blankets I am still using. No issues here! --------------- Day 1 review (will do another update later). So far I think the blanket is really soft. It's my favorite thing about this blanket. After I laundried it, I laid under the blanket with a bunch of other blankets on top (I get cold easily) and it's good at retaining warmth. What I don't like is that it sheds a bit when rubbed or pinched. Maybe it's a new blanket thing, I don't know, but time will tell when it stops doing that and I'll update with the condition of the blanket after it stops shedding.

Every fall my family buys a new couch blanket for cuddling up and watching tv together. This year we bought this polar fleece blanket in the king size, and we could not be happier! It is super silky soft on both sides, almost like a dense cat's fur. For blanket forts or those who like to nap on the couch it is almost completely light proof. So light proof that it could be used as curtains to keep out drafts. What surprised us most was how warm it is compared to how thin it is. Which is great for us because it floats on top of you instead of weighing you down. Finally, the best part, it washes and dries beautifully with minimal shedding and zero shedding after it has been washed and you have it back on the couch. Don't hesitate-buy it for yourself, and gift it to everyone at the holidays!!!!
