I don't really understand the other reviews. I don't use heat on my hair often and I did not own a straightener prior to ordering this. This worked fine at both straightening my hair and making loose curls. I did give it about 10 minutes to warm up after reading the reviews, but I'm not sure that was necessary. I think the temperature is in celsius. 200 Celsius is 392 Fahrenheit. It became very hot. It didn't come with instructions which was disappointing, but figuring out how to use it was easy.

This flat iron is nice and lightweight compared to my old beast of a flat iron. The plates are thin and the curved edge makes it easy to create a wave, or curl, if you wanted to make use of it other than a flat iron. The temps noted are in Celsius, from 140-200, in 20 degree increments. In Farenheit, the conversion is 248 degrees to 392 degrees. Unfortunately, I was only able to get it up to 330 degrees F. For my thicker, coarse hair, it's workable, but not ideal, as I normally prefer a higher temp closer to 425 and up. As mentioned it's workable, but in order to straighten, curl, or wave my hair, it didn't leave it as smooth as I'd like despite the use of heat protectant and smoothing creams. Plus, it takes me longer to do my hair in general. When you have a lot of thick hair, this definitely isn't ideal. Usually, I want to get it all done quick and work in sections thicker than one inch. All in all, for me, this isn't the perfect flat iron, but I wouldn't mind traveling with it due to how slim and light it is. It probably would work better for those with smoother, thin, light hair, that may not need as high temps for sure.

Personally, I don’t think it even gets hot enough, especially for my hair. It pulls hairs as it’s straightening and made my hair frizzy. Did not get a sleek, straight shine at all. I didn’t even bother to try curling with it. Do not recommend this straightener.

This iron has great quality. It is easy to travel with and functional. It's lightweight and the cord length is great also. The quality conveys a great value to me. It heats up nicely and straightens your hair very fast. This item performs as well as expected.

This flat iron has a nice lit display showing power and temperature. It is extremely light weight. Unfortunately the quality is not what I expect. I did not like the way it worked. Even at a high setting I had to run it through my wavy multiple times. The plate size is very narrow.

The LEELAI Flat Iron Hair Straightener and Curler 2 in 1 worked great for my hair. I have think hair that isn't curling. I use a straightener when I want to get a sleek look. The tool didn't leave my hair as smooth as other tools I have used, but I think it did a great job. I just needed to put some product in my hair to control the frizzies. At $15 I would order this tool again. It is light weight and heat up really fast.

This curling iron is a bargain @ the current $14.99 price! It's heats fast and does a decent job of curling - or, maybe it was a user issue and I did a decent job while the flat can do better in the right hands. The temperature is shown in Celcius.
