I have always had a box spring and mattress bed. It was well past time to upgrade my bed. And many people kept telling me to get on of these kind of mattresses. Now, I know how they work and all. I've seen the videos. You know the ones where someone tries to open it while it's still rolled up? Quite a few have failed in doing so. Always reminds me of an old episode of the Dick Van Dyke show. Where his wife (Laura) was very curious to what was in a box that he put in the closet. Well, turns out it was an inflatable raft. I think we all know where this is going. *cue laughter* So in conjunction with the new bed frame I got. I bought this "mattress in a box". I don't know why but it took the bed frame a little longer to get here than the mattress did. So I waited until a couple days before the frame was to show up. I pulled it out of the box. Low and behold, there is was all rolled up. Still a little skeptical of it. laid it on the ground and unrolled it! That was the key! As soon as I poked a hole in it. It started hissing like there were a half dozen rattle snakes were in my face. It instantly inflated to the full 12 inches. The instructions said to let it sit like that for a day or two. But I was to curious and laid on it right then. I was surprised. This thing is soft as can be! I couldn't wait until the frame showed up so I can put it on it. Well, the day finally arrived. Got the frame and put it together. This mattress is a little heavy, but light too. The smaller folks will probably need another person to help them get it up. Put the new bed linen on it too. Let me tell you something. This is probably the best thing I have ever spent my money on. This thing is so comfortable and soft. you sit on the side and it goes down to at least half way, but when you move the middle. Oh my God!!! It's firm. Yet soft at the same time. It's like being on a cloud. I honestly have not slept this well in..... Ever! I don't know how I managed to not get one of these a long time ago! I even manage to start sleeping on my back again! My previous bed I always had trouble doing that so I either laid on my side or stomach. Never my back. You need a new mattress? This is the one. I went with the 12 inch, aka the biggest one. Full size. Don't be stubborn like me. Accept the change! it's worth it! ... show more

I bought this 10-in mattress twin size to go with my grandson's Ralstan lighted bed frame, for his 4th birthday as he was transitioning from a toddler bed to a "big boy" bed. No box springs are needed. This mattress was made with quality, comfort, and is soft to lay on. I would definitely recommend!

I've rated this at a three, at this point, as I'm going to wait the full 72 hours as advised for total inflation. Right now, it looks pretty complete, but better to err on the side of caution. I did sit on it and it seems bouncy and does have better side support than my other new mattress from Amazon ( Zinus brand ) that will be swapped out. I had to build that up but never was completely satisfied. I'm fairly satisfied with the height of this mattress and if it doesn't inflate further than it is right now, it still is a better height for my bed. I can't speak to it's firmness, but after I move it onto the bed that it's intended and I've had a chance to sleep on it, I will update. I will say that whoever is responsible for it's packaging and shipping should do better. The box was opened, and someone had put three pieces of tape to hold the box together. It was pretty heavy, too. 69.8 pounds, I think it said, and I had to unbox it downstairs and lugged it upstairs. But I did it by myself. At this side of 70, that's a pretty big deal. 😉 It also had a pretty strong odor, initially. That, fortunately, dissipated after about a half day. At this point, I'm pretty satisfied. I hesitate saying that, because as I said, this is my second mattress in less than six months. ( that will work out, though, as I will dress the bed in my spare bedroom with the Zinus.) In one of the photos, the new mattress is currently laying on an upholstered bed also from Amazon, that I had a change of heart about. It all worked out. The bed was too masculine to suit what I wanted. Hopefully, this will do the trick and I'll have a nice guest bedroom set up, as well as a nice main bedroom. Further photos and a better update to follow... I'm hoping that I can increase the rating to 5 stars by then. For now, I'll be a little cautious until I can get to actually sleep on it. I recommend it with slight trepidation. 😉 UPDATE: Turns out this is a really nice mattress. After adding a topper and the other bedding, I slept very well on it. I got it for a really good price which was a nice surprise. I increased to four stars. 5 on anything is an ask for me. It is a medium firm for me, and so far the sides support nicely. The media could not be loaded. Do not waste your money, not worth it . This bed was great for a month or two pretty big in size but slowly started sinking in the middle . It was pretty easy to set up and let sit for 48 hrs . There is no smell to the mattress .After another month it had gotten so much deeper . I am 4 months pregnant and my back has never hurt so bad .There is absolutely no support hence the dip . Since i wasn’t expecting to have to purchase another bed anytime soon i had to wait for another one to come in and in the meantime had to use pillows and blankets to fill in the area that was sunk in so that i can have somewhat decent sleep . Very livid . I recommended the bed to my sister since we all just moved and needed new beds and her bed has done the same thing smh !!! ( Please don’t mind the stain on the mattress a plate was spilled ) . ... show more

The mattress was great until you get close to the edge where they feel weak. You feel as if you’re going to roll off. It’s disappointing for the 12” thickness.
