Not all that comfy, so used lightly. 8 months in and visible cracks appeared at joint in picture. Finally, it just collapsed, with my elderly roommate inside. No injuries. Pride, maybe. New News. The seller, Bison Office, kept sending me to the manufacturer. They seemed nice but kept saying they awaited photos, which I'd sent and posted herein. First furniture order I have ever placed on Amazon. Chose this item after scouring the local furniture stores for similar chairs and finding that most stores wanted around $800 starting for a decent quality chair. More than I want to pay for something like this frankly. Ordered on a Sunday evening and had chair by Thursday with free shipping. Outstanding fulfillment on Amazon's part, but that is pretty much expected these days. Initial impressions - 1. Unpacking and assembly were fairly straight forward, with all the tools needed included as part of the package. I would strongly suggest torquing down on every connection bolt in the frames. A couple of those bolts were a little loose, which would undoubtedly result is excess wear and tear at the connection points if this isn't done. Took about an hour total to unpack and complete assembly. I went through it slowly and methodically, it could certainly be done much faster. 2. Construction and materials are top-notch for this price point. Frankly better than expected. There were no loose stichting points or scratch marks and the Brown color, while very dark is, in my opinion much nicer than plain black. 3. I am 5'9" and 230 lbs. Frankly, I don't think that I could be ANY bigger and have this chair fit me. When I first sat down in it, the impression of sitting on a tiny little school chair was sort of strange, especially with the back of the chair feeling almost too short. That impression quickly changed after a couple of minutes, and it became more like settling into a form fitted seat in a sports car. Very comfortable and supportive. I'm not sure that this would be the case if you are taller or wider than I am. 4. I am only giving four stars at this point due to the swiveling base on the chair being largely made of plastic. Not sure how it will hold up over time, but if it turns out to be a problem, it looks like it can be removed pretty easily. 5. Would recommend purchase - now we'll see how it holds up over time. ... show more

This chair is an excellent buy! I found the box to be completely secured for delivery and arrived in perfect condition. The wood is actually micro-laminated maple finish plywood which should be extra strong to handle my 300lb. frame! Assembling the arms and the foot rest was a little cumbersome as the bolts were difficult to line up and get started...but after about an hour I had it done. The hinges for the seat back and bottom were a piece of cake...an that my friends is all you need to assemble. The leather finish is very sturdy. The cushions are a little firm but I am sure they will break in as all chairs do with use. Another reviewer had said that the swivel glider on the bottom was very cheap and metal on metal with grease only. I have spent half my life as a mechanic and I can tell you it glides on bearings AND grease. You can hear the bearings faintly doing their work. Given that other chairs of this quality can cost upwards of $350-$1000 or more this chair is well worth the money at the $230.00 and change I paid for it. I would not hesitate to buy another one or to recommend it to others! ... show more

This chair is exactly what we were looking for! Not sure why so many people had a problem with assembly. It took 25 minutes from box to butt in the seat. Very simple assembly. Everything was labeled, all hardware (consisting of a few screws, washers and needed tools) were included. The quality is nice. No chips in the wood, leather is nice and soft. If your looking for an alternative to a huge “old man” recliner in your house this is it. Comfortable. Could used better lumbar support. I do agree with other reviews, this is probably not going to hold up for larger people. My husband is 5’8” and 170 lbs. Fits him well. Comes in a huge box. ... show more

I bought this for my husband and he absolutely loves it. He is about 5'11" and he weighs 175lbs. It is a great value for the price. It arrived very quickly and the packaging was in perfect shape. No scratches or dents. Easy assembly. It took him about 25 minutes to put it together. Some other reviewers said that putting on the arm rests was difficult and that the holes didn't match up. But my husband said that it was not the case at all. The holes matched up perfectly and he put the armrests on in about 10 minutes. Its very comfortable. The cushioning/"leather" is a bit stiff at first, but it softens up over time. Good lumbar support. He has spent MANY hours in the chair reading, watching tv, laptop, etc and he has no complaints. The ottoman is also very comfortable on the calves. The chair rotates easily. All in all, its a great value. Its a super chair for $265 and very good quality. As other people have said, Is it as wonderful and comfortable as at $1200 department store chair? Probably not. But for $265, we are VERY satisfied and have no regrets. Will it hold up over time? We will see. But if it doesn't, at least we didn't spend a small fortune on it. HIghly recommended. ... show more
