I loved the little expanding feature it has because it lets me store even more lures and lets me separate my rubber baits. The only issues I came across were that the lid will detach from time to time and the little dividers it comes with are slightly short but if you put the frames together they fit in perfect. I accidentally dropped it about a foot off the ground from a picnic table and the only things that moved where the top baits, which is were I keep most my rubber baits so it was no issue. For the price, it’s a great tackle box, replacing my single-tray, vintage Old Pal Woodstream. However, as others have noted here, when I would open the main lid, it would come apart, because it’s connected via plastic half-hinge “clamps” that are supposed to “snap” onto molded plastic hinge pins. After being annoyed with the lid popping off every time I opened it, I came up with a solution that’s lasted (so far) for two seasons. In the middle of each of the six blue hinge clamps, against the body, I drilled a small hole and used a micro file to widen it to a slot, being very careful to not take away too much material. I then threaded zip ties through the slot, being sure they were all oriented in the same direction. After pulling them all equally snug, I clipped the ends of the zip ties, and rotated the zip tie clasps to the underside of the hinge, so they were not visible. Now when I open the lid, it stays on. And, if one or more of the zip ties fail, they can be replaced. If not for this flaw, I would have given it 5-stars. In fact, I would have paid extra to get one with a full hinge with a brass rod running through it, but this fix does seem to work - thus far... ... show more

I love this product for the organization features. It has all the compartments I needed to put together my family first aid kit. That being said. It is made of a cheaper plastic. The base is pretty sturdy and the top feel sturdy but what is NOT sturdy are the hinges on this unit. Every time I open the lid, the left hinge comes undone. It is increasingly annoying. I had a few items in the outer lid compartment and ended up removing them in the hopes that it would help the box hinge from coming undo. No dice. It still comes undone. I kept the box because I just pop the hinge back into place, but if you plan on using this for a fishing tackle box, I wouldn't recommend it. I still works for my family and I because we have the time, patience and space in the bathroom to pop the hinge back into place and adjust the lid as we open it. If your fishing, it would be so very impractical. As a fisher-woman I would never recommend this as a tackle box. This is better suited for indoor organization purposes only. ... show more
