These Gearwrench 1/4” impact sockets are really nice tools. They are well made, durable and the sizes easy to read, much easier to read than chrome sockets. I use them for everything and they’ve replaced my chrome set. You get a great assortment of sizes at a decent price.

Very impressed with the quality and design. I bought this 1/4" set to to use with my impact driver as well as with my hand drivers. I work around the water on my boat and around docks often and dropping a socket usually means it is gone forever. These sockets have the detent hole as seen on larger 3/8 and 1/2 sockets. When working around a space where losing the socket may happen I use my driver with a locking pin. The locking pin secures it and wont let go until you depress the pin through the hole with an awl or other small point. Most 1/4 sockets do not have this hole and the socket is at risk of falling off and being lost. The size markings are very visible and the broaching of the sockets seem well made. The wall thickness is also not overly thick like a lot of impact sockets can be. ... show more

slightly different finish than the 3/8 set, but looks great and is built tough to work with impacts and resist corrosion. i have been having zero issues with them as traditional sockets, and they have held up the same being worked with ratchets. see picture for slightly less shiny coating on 1/4 sockets ... show more

This set of Gearwrench 1/4" drive impact sockets are awesome!! I love the quality of the sockets and they come in a really nice case. Each socket has the size printed twice plus laser etched at the bottom. Perfect balance of quality and price. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic and another mechanic I work with that only buys snap on tools couldn't believe how nice these were and how little they cost me. He has a very similar set of 1/4" drive non impact sockets but his set did come with a little ratchet and small extension. The guy paid $600 for his!! Don't get me wrong I've got a few pair of snap on cutters, blue point filter wrenches and couple other things off that truck but damn don't go broke making stupid purchases like him! Buy this set you won't regret it ... show more

I have this set, the 3/8 and 1/2 inch drive as well. Black finish seems easy to scratch when the socket rubs on just about anything. One set got wet and showed surface rust which I quickly addressed with Deep Creep oil. I love them though. Way easier to identify the size than chrome sockets with hard to read etching. I also love the case because at the end of the day at work, I instantly know if a socket is missing and what size. I also like that I don’t have to pick up a strip of sockets to see the size. These are all labeled both on the socket and the case which I can see at a glance. ... show more

For a full set of 1/4 impact metric and SAE, this is a great value. Super easy to spot the size etching as well. Have used these frequently and never had an issue with them. The sockets fit well tight around nuts and bolts. Lifetime warranty is always a plus using Gearwrench stuff.
