I commute to work and have to spend some time waiting outside for connections. It has been a quest for the last several years to find a coat that can keep me warm in the coldest winter months and can go right to a conference room without looking like I just came from an expedition. This coat is what I have been looking for. It has kept me warm during the last several sub-zero mornings. It might not be the most fashion forward jacket, but I like the look of it and I don't feel embarrassed to walk into meetings with coworkers. Others have commented about the sleeve length, and they are are long. They go past my knuckles. I happen to like this though as it helps keep my hands warm. My only major con is the fit. I'm not a big guy, but maybe big enough at 6' 225. The jacket fits me a little tight in the chest and waist, shoulders are fine and length is perfect. I maybe could have gone up a size, but I was nervous about the sleeve length others have mentioned. All in all, I'm very happy with it and would definitely recommend it.

Finally got fed up wearing various layers (down jackets w/ a ski shell) for work or casual wear when it's bitter cold or in one of our New England blizzards. I ski a lot and love the cold weather. I'm used to it and have many jackets and performance clothing for active winter activities; however, when I was going to work or just out in the city, I was always cold or felt like Ralphie's little brother Randy (from A Christmas Story). I wanted a rock solid winter parka. Looked at various styles and makers, went to various stores to try them all on for fit and style. For me Fjallraven's Barents Parka was perfect. Not to big or puffy. Top quality. Great style and very well made. Good for over a suit or just with jeans and a t shirt. Best of all, it's extremely warm and keeps me dry - even during our last two blizzards with driving snow, 30 mph winds, and below zero temps when factoring the wind chill. I can be in jeans and a t-shirt, put my boots on and this jacket, and go walk the dog early morning and feel very warm and comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a rock solid winter parka. I anticipate using this coat for many, many New England winters to come.

The coat served me well for two rough winters working outside in north dakota i believed in the product until the zipper broke and fjallraven informed that lifetime warranty for the zipper is only 1 year. So the super expensive coats lifetime warranty means 1 YEAR. They don't expect them to last for more than a year! Really! Not worth it unless you are just looking for a fasion statement or it's on sale. Caution! A real life time warrant is given through Eddi Bauer that is Awesome they will replace a broken zipper or even a whole coat after three years or more no questions asked, now that is a REAL life time warranty! Update Fjallraven gave me an option to wait a little longer for a new zipper or offered me a new parka because, (let me allow Fjallraven to speak for them self.) Hello Brandon Thank you again for letting us still try to rectify this situation and again our apologies for the incorrect information. We did find where this came from and it was a result of a mix-up of one of our other brands. For Hanwag boots, there is a 1 year warranty but for our Fjallraven brand, it is a lifetime warranty. We have addressed that situation and performing re-training with all divisions and departments to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future. Thank you again and our apologies this situation occurred. We stand behind the quality of our product and will make sure this gets resolved for you. Incredibly warm, stylish and lightweight. Definitely a worthwhile investment especially if you live in cold climates, you'll be wearing this daily. The fur is synthetic which is great compared to Canada Goose's coyote fur :( Holds up well against snow, water, stains. I have not had any problems in terms of odor even though I wore it most days in the winter. I have nothing bad to say about this parka, one of the best purchases I have made. The craftsmanship is on point, I imagine I'll be wearing this for many more years.

Nice long jacket. The material is tough and I don't anticipate it wearing out anytime soon. Good for cold weather 25 degrees or so but not for the bitter cold winter nights that I have to put up with.

Amazingly warm coat. Fur trim on hood is removable. Great purchase. Only odd thing is that the zipper is on the "other" side than I'm used to.
