My 4-year-old daughter is really into fairytales, and I wanted to get a book that included more than just a few. This book is exactly what I was looking for! It’s the perfect blend of fairytales, folktales, and fables, and they all can be read in approximately 5 minutes. For us, this means we choose a few to read every night. I liked it so much I bought a copy for my niece’s birthday. The one thing I’ll note is that the cover is different. The one pictured is green but the one we received had a less attractive gray cover.     • Wonderful collection of classic stories
I bought this to introduce my child to some of the classics. She loves the '5 minute stories' books and this has been a great addition. Note that many of the stories in the book do not match their Disney versions. I'm not sure if that's just because Disney changed the stories and these are more traditional or if the authors made their own edits. We haven't read through the whole book yet but we've gotten about half way since purchasing. Most of the stories are great! Short, simple, to the point. If you're looking for something with the classic stories in full detail then I wouldn't suggest this because I've noticed they've cut out details here and there to shorten the stories. That's not a problem for me though because I'm reading to my toddler and the short & sweet stories work best to not overwhelm him! As for the book itself- awesome! Great pictures, vibrant colors, clear words, good size for holding! Our bookmark (ribbon) was unattached and came out but no biggie. I still think this is a great buy! :) ... show more

This is such a good quality book for the price point even at the standard price of $16 (purchased on sale for $11+). The printing qualiy is excellent: vibrant colors and thick pages with a sheen that allows for time to wipe off if something were to spill on them. I like that the illustrations vary in style but are still congruent enough to feel like they're from the same family. My only (minor) complaint is that the binding warps the pages near the front and back portions close to the spine. [see photos] Definitely would recommend as a gift! ... show more

We absolutely love this book. The stories are the right length, offer the right amount of dialogue, and are downright fun reads. We have a 7 week old son that loves every bit of the voices we read.
