Missing #35lb weight, only received one of the pair. All of the other weights were present and weighted the correct weight. Weights have a strong rubbery smell to them upon opening and need to be cleaned. Overall great set for the price if I can have the missing 35lb plate shipped as it’s a big hassle to return the entire set. Will update if problem is corrected. Update: the other 35lb plate came in UPS said they missed it. We let the weights air out on the back patio over night and greatly decreased the rubbery smell. For the price and quality of the weights so far you can’t beat them!

They will be a little slippery right out of the box, which is what I’ve experienced with all new rubber weights regardless of brand. Face it, this is an INEXPENSIVE set of bumper plates. These are not Rogue plates. Quality is very good and they'll do the job. Let's be real about the fact that these are budget bumper plates: If you deadlift and actually LOWER these plates to the floor which actually works your posterior chain on the eccentric, these are fine. If you do CrossFit or power clean and are constantly dropping your weights to the floor, yes, these will most likely wear around the metal inserts. The barbell is decent quality and I'd advise investing in good collars. These are very good for a home gym and the painted letters actually look really good and were packaged well. UPS of course, did their usual throwing around the boxes so they were torn and damaged with no damage to the plates themselves. Just like the Rogue plates I used to own, the 10 and 15 lb plates will eventually bend if you're constantly dropping them to the floor. If you're a heavy duty lifter who does power cleans, drop your deadlifts and overhead presses, get a high quality set of plates that are actually designed for heavy use. Don't blame the manufacturer for your choice of budget plates. I'm 64 and started lifting when I was in high school and am a former personal trainer. If you want competition quality, buy some competition plates. A $329 bumper plate set (including the bar) isn't for you.

I bought 2 pair of 35lb and 2 pair of 45lb. It arrived today and I've measured the exact weight of each plate. Here are the numbers for the plates. 4 x 45lb (20.4kg) plates. 46.1lb (20.9kg) 45.4lb (20.6kg) 45.4lb (20.6kg) 45.2lb (20.5kg) 4 x 35lb (15.88kg) plates 35.5lb (16.1kg) 35.3lb (16.0kg) 35.3lb (16.0kg) 35.3lb (16.0kg) One plate has 1.1 lb gap with the original weight, others are just acceptable for me. I’ve been going to the gym for over 10 years and have trained at many different gyms, and the smell of the plates is just the ordinary smell of bumper plates you’d find in any gym.

Since 35lb is the ugly 2nd cousin of all the other plates, you can regularly get the best deals. I found these were of hard rubber than other brands but no oiliness on delivery, which is a bonus. Weight and metal ring measure correctly, so they are cost-effective, and this was a helpful addition to max out my cable rack, which unavoidably halves the loaded weight due to pulley ratios.

The media could not be loaded. The Signature Fitness 35lb bumper plates are a great value overall. They feel solid, fit the bar snugly, and have held up well through my lifting sessions without any major scuffs or warping. The bounce is consistent. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that the finish isn’t as refined as higher-end brands, and they run a little thicker than expected, so you can’t load quite as much weight on the bar. Still, for the price, these are an excellent choice for a home gym.
