This camera was an absolute breeze to install and get running. Quality and viewing angle is sufficient. Can be finicky trying to connect to it if you have wireless carplay, a trick I learned is to plug your phone into your truck so carplay is wired, that way it frees up with wifi connection to connect to camera.     • UPDATED! Constant Flashing Blue Light is a NO!

UPDATE: The review below stated that there was a flashing blue light. I reached out to customer service and their tech person was on it! They sent me three files to update the firmware that I downloaded and put on the card to stop the flashing lights. If you want the lights to stop, reach out. Follow their instructions. It works. Now the lights are just solid. Waiting to hear back if they have a fix for the skewed video issue. FIRST REVIEW: Returning it for two reasons. I wanted to give five stars at first, until my wife got in the truck. She asked what the flashing blue light was. I didn’t notice it because it was behind the mirror. In the instructions it says it will keep flashing to show its recording. What? Why? My previous camera never did that. It’s really annoying, and even more so when your wife keeps telling you about it! I emailed the company. A very quick response! Thanks! However, they told me to put a piece of black tape over it!! I thought of that before, but for them to say it was just a horrible answer. Paying this much for a camera to have a constant flashing light! Easy installation though! Really easy. Great camera but one other thing. It produces crooked video. When you review the video, it’s off center some and crooked. The left side of the hood is higher and yes, annoying. No way to center it. Works as described. Was frustrating getting my phone and product linked up on WiFi. All things considered, my truck also has wifi and so does my house, so i reckon everything just got confused when I was setting it up. Pros: videotapes as described. Simple mechanical setup. Aside from wifi bs, mechanical setup worked flawlessly in my 2022 F150 Lariat 4-door. Cons: aside from an hour of setup frustrations (from Wifi probs) it also records sound. So if I rewatch a video, I have to listen to me talking to myself. More concerning, Im sure the NSA can hear me talking to me too, and those convos should never be shared. ... show more

So I did not realize that the device would be defective straight out of the box. I did not take the time to look at the other reviews. I am clearly in a well, accompanied line of folks that had to return the camera kit because it wouldn’t power on. I did make the effort to contact fit X directly and through their chat. And I actually did get a person however, all they did was send me a short video showing how you have to manhandle the connectors in the dongle to make it work. I actually did what they said , but it did not help at that point. They ended the chat and have yet to respond since I don’t really have much else to say about the quality of the product because it doesn’t work but it could be specific to the dongle. Therefore I am returning my first product. I have on hand now And have ordered a new one has a replacement. I am hopeful that it is specific to this individual item but I have noticed since running into this issue the reviews and now have my doubts as an FYI this is an install on a 2023 Ford lightning . This is for the 4K front and 1080 P rear set up finally since I did go through the efforts of installing the front and rear devices I will share that for those folks with this type of vehicle the install is simple the running of the wire to the rear camera , if that’s helpful. ... show more

Installation is very easy. The hardest part was paring it with my phone. The only thing that will make this better is GPS that will allow speed to show up on the video. Great product and one of the best dash cams I've used to date.
