I thought when I saw the picture, that the cap would fit on the handle since you don't always have pockets to put the cap in. Close, but no cigar. When you're busy with branch refuse, it's too easy to lose discernment between a branch and a cap that's in your hand. I did some February pruning here in Iowa today. I have no idea when I dropped the cap, but I think is when I dropped my first handful of clippings to the ground. When I got to the house, I patted all my pockets and didn't find it anywhere. I retraced my steps and found it lying in the snow by the hydrangea bush I was pruning. How hard would it have been to design the handle to accept the cap? They are so close in design. So I've been on a mission to find "good" quality clippers for small plant maintenance and NONE of them (and I've tried almost everywhere) have performed as wanted. I have quite the collection of indoor plants at this point and pinching doesn't always get the job done. I have mostly aroids, so the stems don't get woody, but they do get thick! These pruners are great for chopping to propagate and general maintenance. They are 'spring loaded' but the latch to keep them closed is secure, and it comes with a rubber cover for the blades to keep you safe from the pointy tips, and make you feel extra safe about them being closed. I imagine the tip would even be small and delicate enough for some Bonsai work, however I haven't had the pleasure of becoming obsessed with Bonsai just yet. ... show more
