My kids love using these tools in our backyard to "help" with yardwork. They're light enough that my 2 year old can easily carry one across our yard, and sturdy enough that our 5 year old can dig and rake to his hearts content. They aren't quit so sturdy that they're something my husband or I would reach for in a pinch as I'd fear we'd break them, but they should last a good while for the kids. ... show more

This is a great set for kids to start learning how to maintain garden and to do some garden cleaning work. The set is lightweight and easy for kids to hold and the material is not metal so it is safe for kids to use. Also, the handle of rake and shovel is good size for kids to pick up and clean with it. These are excellent for beach or garden play with little ones. The quality, make and materials are all far superior to anything else we have as far as kid garden stuff. I could see myself keeping these long after my kids are older honestly just for little jobs like digging holes for beach umbrellas. We mostly use these in our yard with toddlers. I find they are the perfect items to occupy kids when I’m doing actual yard work like raking out mulch or moving gravel or loam around. They can just use these to slowly scoop or rake at whatever and the size and strength means they don’t actually make a huge mess but do feel like they are helping and being just like mommy or daddy. They are surprising strength too. We have definitely had kids hit driveway hard with these and they haven’t dented or cracked or even scratched. They have loops at the top so you can hang vertically if you need to store them out of the way on hooks. Overall I’d highly recommend them. ... show more

My daughter loves helping in the garden, so this set has been extremely fun. As long as the dirt is loose and loamy, the shovel works perfectly well. The rake is great for leaves, grass and debris. My child loves these and they help her feel like a grown up gardener who is really helping. Don’t expect this shovel to pierce packed dirt, otherwise it’s everything you need for kids helping you in the garden.
