I bought these Fiskars bypass pruning shears after my off-brand garden clippers snapped after just one use, and the difference is huge. These feel sturdy, solid, and comfortable in the hand, even after a good amount of trimming. I usually cut wilted hydrangea blooms toward the end of the fall season to prep for next year’s flowers, and this made the whole job so much easier. The blades are sharp and cut through stems and smaller branches cleanly with very little effort, which I really appreciate when I am squeezing yard work in between kid activities. First off, I want to say I'd give it a solid "5" star rating if it didn't sometimes have difficulty springing back open. Other than that, I love this thing. It has very smooth and precise action. It is lightweight, strong, comfortable to use, and easily cuts twigs up to 3/8" with a simple squeeze. It is great for trimming back various "intruders" that come though my chain link fence from the neighbor's yard, and takes no prisoners when it comes to honeysuckle vines-- I can gather them like rope and cut large amounts at one time.
