Description

The Fiskars long-handle steel tiller makes it easy to break up the soil in your garden without sore knees from kneeling or back strain from bending. The welded steel construction is far more durable than wood and won’t flex like fiberglass. Six arrow-tipped tines break up tough soil easily, an extra-large foot platform helps maximize force to break up hardened soil clods, and a T-handle design provides a secure, two-handed grip. Used to be, you had two tilling choices: the tedium of toiling away with a hoe or the bone-rattling anguish of wrangling a bucking, snorting power tiller. But no more. This easy-on-the-body tiller features an innovative design that lets you insert a foot in the "stirrup" for more digging power. The strong steel shaft and padded T-grip handles supply ample leverage to break up compacted soil, while the arrowhead tips pierce and shatter hardened soil clods. And at 40-Inch in overall length, there is no need to stoop or squat. Now that is civilized gardening. • Makes Quick Work . . .
of small jobs. I'm 5'5" on a good day with a medium to small build, and have a host of skeletal issues, including arthritis; yet I can use this tool. That's a plus. For roots that go 6 - 8" deep, and that are a bit lightweight, this is my go-to tool. For things like thicker and more rigid roots I have to find something else. Like my husband, lol. Jokes aside, this will make quick work of dandelions, weeds, and small brush or trees (trimmed to the stump, that is). If the roots go much deeper than 8" I find I do struggle to pull them free so I just clip them off with my pruning shears and wait for them to come back, but hope for them to die off. For loosening soil this piece of equipment is sure to make the task a simple one. If you're smaller like me, you might find that standing on top of the claw and hopping a bit, or even rocking back and forth, may be in order. I've gotten pretty violent with my sheer will to power through. Not to fear, because this thing is rugged and will stand up to the abuse. I have even used my full weight and treat this as a lever for some of the tougher roots - I'm sure it's quite the spectacle for my neighbors. Rinse this guy off and keep it in a dry storage area to ensure it has a long life. Do wear thick shoes, just in case. If for nothing else, wear thick shoes so you have a solid surface to stand on as you're driving the claw into the ground. I used this, along with a pole saw, mini chainsaw, shovel, and rake to make trails along the perimeter of our yard where we left about 10' from the fence uncleared. The claw helped me significantly in my tasks. ... show more

  • Long handle tiller
Purchased for my wife to use in her garden. Easy to use and works very well.

  • Almost 5 stars!
This is a heavy duty tool with about 1" solid tubing. It should last a long time. I'm taking a star away for the shape of the tilling points. They're supposed to be pointed, but mine arrived with spoon-shaped tips. It still works very well, but I'll have to put it on the grinder to reshape the points a bit. All said, I'd still order it again due to strength of design. All the others I looked at had a three-part handle section held together by a single nut at both ends, which will weaken them over time. Price and design of the Fiskars makes it a first-rate tool. ... show more

  • Sturdy and Gets the Job Done
I've used similar products before, and they didn't hold up well to the job. This Fiskars tool did. It's study and well made. It easily got the job done without having to exert a lot of effort. Fiskars is my go to gardening brand, and this tool by them did not disappoint.

  • Easy to use; gets the job done quick
I needed a good, yet simple, tiller to turn my potato bed before planing season. The dirt gets rain, snow, it freezes, it thaws... so when it was time to plant, the bed was pretty solid. This little tiller was just the right size and very easily turned the dirt, breaking it up and mixing it at the same time. Definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Fiskers is great at making useful stuff
The design seems to be well thought out and works well, The only thing I could ask for more is maybe the handles to be extendable for a little more leverage, But that's probably not most people's needs. I just live in an area that tends to have a lot of rocks.

  • It's a beast
You'll definitely get a workout in but it does the job and then some

  • Works well
Makes tilling my clay soil much easier. Also use it as a plug-hole digger since the clay is so dense, I just press in the tiller, twist and lift and have a perfect size hole for seedlings and small plants.
