Starting off, I LOVE Fiskars items. While this is a great scoop, it had some issues. The first issue is the label is a giant super sticky sticker. I had to soak it over night and then use goo gone to get it off. The other issue I had with this item was that it was plastic. The material listed is Alloy Steel, which is what I expected since all of my other Fiskars tools are metal. If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the description, it says it is plastic. Having bought their products before and seeing steel at the very top, I trusted that it was steel. This was misleading and even if I’d seen both materials listed in those two spots, the picture shown isn’t clear which material it really is. The plastic seems thick and sturdy but I paid more for this plastic scoop than my other Fiskars tools that are metal. ... show more

The trowel handle is comfortable and the entire product is made of durable plastic composite material. I removed the adhesive label and then removed the sticky adhesive using "Goo Gone" but "WD-40" or Avon "Skin So Soft" would work just as well. I prefer the orange scent of Goo Gone but I wash it off with dish soap once the adhesive is removed. I purchased this to carry with me on my backpacking trip of the JMT because I wanted a trowel with a more comfortable handle. While it's "lite enough" at 2.9 ounces, it's not as lite as the stated weight of 0.02 pounds ( 0.32 ounces) in the product description. I've reported the incorrect information to Amazon and they may have corrected it before this review is posted. The weight discrepancy is trivial for backyard gardeners but I requested that it be corrected for backpackers trying to minimize weight on long treks. ... show more

Pretty straightforward product - does the job. The one complaint I have, which is majorly annoying, is that the entire handle has an ugly orange sticker wrapped around it that doesn't come off. It's one of those stickers that just tears when you try to peel it off. So annoying and really ugly!
