    • The sun will bake it. Try to put it in shade.
I left it out in the sun and the ball cracked, it had several cracks so I ordered another one, but it is a very good item!!!

I really like this mount. I mounted my 10" Garmin to it in my boat and it really is stable. I've paid way more money for mounts that were not this good.

    • Seems pretty good
The only problem I've had is that the screw holding the base on came loose after I installed the mount which meant I had to take it off again and put locktight on that screw. Do that before you install it and you should be good to go.

I had been in the market for a mount just like this one, and when I saw the price point of this item, I could not say no. So far, it seems to clamp nice and tight. I have a Helix 9 mounted on it, and it's holding it in any direction that I have tried. Seems to be made with some pretty tough material and adjusts very easily ... show more

I wouldn’t mount anything bigger then a Helix 7. I had my Helix 9 mounted to it and man did this thing fail it I was driving across the water.
