4.5/5 for the red jar texturizing clay! tldr: good for long shag cuts, fluffy hold and able to touch up throughout the day, earthy clay smell I have a long wolf/shag cut and naturally straight asian hair, wanted something to give it texture without having to bother with heat styling every morning. This product does great! I use basically a pea size amount and rub between my fingers and then scrunch around the ends of each layer and kinda twist rub the ends with my fingertips to style. Process takes maybe a minute compared to having to use a flat iron for 5+ minutes. The hold is great and it doesn't look greasy or clumpy, looks nice and fluffy. It softens throughout the day while still giving slight hold and texture. The best part is how easy it is to restyle later in the day, all I do is repeat the same scrunching and rubbing. Minus half a star because the scent is quite earthy and strong at the start. Not overwhelmingly so or to the point where it bothers your nose but you can smell the clay. It also fades throughout the day, but is still a little bit present. I just got this recently so I haven't been able to test to see if the clay is able to hold perfume to make perfume last longer tho, if so that would be a great bonus. I'll update on that later. Overall would recommend! It does seem comparatively pricey but the ingredients are all natural, the packaging is done with so much care, and I love their sustainability mindset! Plus, I think this product will last a long time since you only need so little (and I'm using it on long hair too). update: the smell fades fairly quickly and is easily overtaken by any perfume. I feel like it does help with perfume longevity when i spray onto my hair and I personally like the light lavender herby scent of the clay! Hasn’t separated or gotten weird, if anything the clay has adjusted to room temp and softened slightly in the jar so its easier to work with than when I first got it! Honestly highly recommend!

It’s hard to find products these days you plan to continuously buy for life. This is the perfect pomade. Goes in your hair without weighing it down, easy to style — almost weightless — and once you blow/air dry, it holds like glue. New lifelong customer.

Style: All-Purpose Pomade
This stuff is just what I’ve been looking for. Strong hold, but still keeps my hair soft to the touch. I can restyle throughout the day by running my fingers through it. I really love the fresh smell but it does fade away after a few minutes. The ingredients are as close to natural as I could find. The shine is not too shiny, it’s just right. I’ve tried using matte pomades and they just make my hair look dry and lifeless. I’m half Asian and British, I would describe my hair as being thick and straight, and very hard to style. I literally only used a quarter size amount, warmed it in my hands and that’s all I needed. I usually use a lot more product with gels or other pomades. For me, paying this higher price is worth the ease of styling and not putting a load of harsh chemicals in my hair. It would be nice if they did lower the price for their continuous loyal customers! When I ordered this hair product I was expecting something different I guess more of a pomade but this is a putty style hair product and smells like the fast orange soap, if you know you know, It's not terrible but the smell is a bit over powering for me just for a hair product.

This stuff is fantastic. It’s not too heavy, smells light and nice, hold is pretty moderate. Doesn’t look like anything is in your hair. Far superior to anything else I’ve tried. Seems to be authentic from Amazon as well and im always skeptical but sometimes I buy this directly from my barber and it seems the exact same.

Style: Clay Pomade
Just for Reference I have Thick Curly Hair and always struggle with getting the waves out when styling my hair. I have been using Pomades for 3-4 years on and off and living in Florida it makes it hard to use Oil based pomades as I always felt it weighted down my hair and just made me feel greasy. I wasn't interested in all the water-based pomades as I'm not a big fan of Gel or Gel Based products. So I actually just stopped using pomades for about a year. Finally, I wanted to return to Pomades as I just loved that way pomade worked for me and gave me a sense of control of my hair. When I was looking back into to pomades I realized there was a new type of pomade called Unorthodox water based this has all the pros of water based and oil based with none of the cons (in my opinion). I used Firsthand Supply before they rebranded their logos and changed some ingredients and I loved them I used the Water-based pomade now know as the all-purpose pomade and the only thing I could have asked for is more hold. Well, this is where the Clay Pomade (previously Summer Pomade) comes in. The Clay Pomade has more hold than the all-purpose pomade and just work really well for my hair. I loved the scent, the breakdown, and the application (always have done it with damp/towel dried hair). In my opinion, this pomade has a setting period of maybe 5 minutes where I style my hair the way I want it to but let it sit for 5 minutes and then finish off styling. I have used it for 3-4 days and it has outperformed any pomades I have used previously. I even slept with my hairstyle and woke up the next day without even having to style my hair and I do a side part/slick back. This Pomade has no trouble holding down my sides or getting out my waves making my hair look nice and neat. I'm more than happy with this pomade and would recommend you pick one up because when this jar runs out I will be buying another one.
