I had to send back the first one of these because the remote buttons didn't work. You do have to be fairly close to the machine in order for it to work. It functions as most aromatherapy machines do: fill it with water, add a scented oil; and turn it on. The difference is that this has some intense orange lights at the top that makes it look as if the steam coming out is a flame. It's more convincing than you might imagine. I think it's best to have it at or above eye level because if you look down into it, the lights are super bright and kind of ruin the effect. It can only be used with the remote, so if you lose it, you're out of luck. There is a slot for the lightning-bolt-shaped remote to fit into on the front of the machine which helps to keep it handy. The remote itself is a little hard to read and, as mentioned earlier, not super responsive. It's a kooky but fun way to smell up your house.

What is from my wife last week? She absolutely loves it. Really enhances the decor in our den. Very elegant and nice design and I love the remote the last one I had did not have a remote getting up to change the settings to turn it on was a huge pain now that I could do it all from my couch is absolutely amazing. The water refill doesn’t need to be done often the tank last long time and really happy with this purchase.

Bought this as a gift but the description looked so cool, I couldn't help but by one for myself. It's easy to use. I had no issues setting it up. Pretty much just add water and point the correct side of the remote at the unit and ta-da! I love how the yellow light causes the mist that comes out to actually look like a lazy flame. I definitely recommend this item if you're looking to relax and meditate or just add a little ambiance to your room ;)

I used to have mood lighting in the bathroom with my Philips led light that I bought years ago, but that recently broke, I saw this simulated flames humidifier and I thought that would be great in the bathroom or on a night stand next to my bed. I love the smell of eucalyptus while I bath and sometimes lavender while I sleep. Great buy. Love the remote looks like a bolt. I would say you need to hold the remote with the little bulb pointing at the humidifier otherwise the remote won't work. It's something I can get use to.

This is a really well built diffuser it's quality but there are a few drawbacks these aren't dealbreakers just some stuff the manufacture should consider improving. The first drawback is the limited range of the remote when I'm at my desk I have it on and it's mounted on the wall on a shelf adjacent to my desk and the remote doesn't reach it I have to slide my chair back just to get in it's range. Secondly the led light is non-dimmable would be nice if you could dim this because if you use this to sleep the light would be way too bright for my liking but I like my bedroom pitch dark to sleep. Overall a really good diffuser would definitely recommend.

The media could not be loaded. This is a super nice humidifier and diffuser. I've exclusively been using it with essential oils. It runs for hours and hours - I'm very impressed by that. The tank is large enough to run for quite some time. The plastic does feel a bit "cheap" and the remote is strange. The IR bead has to be pointed at the machine for it to work and sometimes it hard to get it oriented since it's shaped like a lightning bolt. The flame effect is so cool! The only other wish I have is that the lights had more dimming options. There are 3 light levels but I find even the dimmest to be a bit bright. If the dimming range had more options or were more evenly spread I think it would be better. I hope this holds up to a lot of usage. I'll come update if things go south but so far it's a great addition to the ambience!
