I assembled this in 26 min. Only 8 bolts required and all the holes lined up. The rest are pop-in slats. Stress tested it last night- no squeaks or movement. Slats support mean I can get rid of mattress foundation. You have to get used to the bed frame rails lying flat on the floor and not stub your toe on them, but that's no problem; and it prevents shoes and other items getting kicked under the bed. Also leaves plenty of room for under bed storage. I'll revise if the above changes.

Bought this along with a 12 inch foam mattress and I am very happy with both purchases. The frame was very straightforward putting together by myself, no parts missing and everything fit together easily. My small old dogs can get on and off with no problem and I have no issue getting up which I was concerned about with only an 18 inch total bed height (I'm in my seventies so back issues are always a concern). The frame is very well made and sturdy. No negatives here.

We ordered this because our older large dog was having trouble getting on our bed. It's definitely lower! Assembly went smoothly and so far no squeaks or issues with the frame. I actually prefer it to our old frame because of the rounded corners too. Our lab is happily stealing my husband's side of the bed and sleeping great too.
