  • Right angle screwdriver-NO rear tire removal needed!
The media could not be loaded. My review will only focus on the one main complaint stating that you had to remove the rear tire to attach the rear fender. Poppycock! A CHEAP tool called a right angle screwdriver will eliminate this problem. It would still be easier to remove rear wheel/tire to get the screw in BUT you may not want to because of the fear of getting everything back together properly. In this case, follow these steps: 1)Buy a cheap right angled screwdriver (less than 3 bucks around here). 2)Let the air out of the rear tire (if you have a bike you should also own a good tire pump). 3)SQUEEZE in there and "finger start" the screw. 4)Squeeze the screwdriver onto the screw and go to work. There is still limited space in there so you will have to be patient. You will only be able to turn the screw about 1/6th of a rotation each time. 5)Pump your tire back up and TaaDaa, you are done! I bought 3 (not all from amazon) and used the same process on each. The one bike was a single speed so my only concern was readjusting the brake and chain to their proper spots. Would have not been too difficult. The others were on the 3 speed versions and I just did not want to fuss with removing the rear end. (NOTE: When you have the screwdriver between the tire and the screw head, the tire sort of helps hold pressure on the screwdriver-helping to hold it into the slots on the screw). Good Luck. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Don't Buy This Unless You Are MacGyver!
They don't send enough screws and the ones they do send may not fit your bike. You MUST have a wide opening in the frame of the back wheel to get these to fit your bike. If the opening is not wide enough, you may have to cut the metal around the frame/brakes and jimmy-rig to get them to fit your bike. Regardless, you will probably have to bend and/or scratch them to get it fastened. At that point you cannot return them. I do not recommend this product, unless you have a serious metal working shop at home and the tools available to cut metal and jimmy-rim these fenders to your bike. ... show more

  • It works on 3" tires! Well, kind of..
Size: 24" Color: Chrome
I have Electra Ghostrider cruiser bike which comes with Electra Fatti-O 24" X 3.0" tires and no front fender around them. First ride in the rain made it clear - I'll need something in between of my face and the front wheel, unless I want to eat dirt (and that is not a metaphor). Quick search revealed that there are not too many options for 3" tires and out of those - there is only a handful that will blend into the chopper-style profile of the Ghostrider. In fact, this was pretty much the only option I was left with, so I pulled the trigger and ordered. Let's start off with the looks (which is probably the main reason why you would buy a cruiser like Ghostrider). The color is matte silver, rather than shiny chrome, but I think it still fits (or I'm just trying to convince myself, because I can't find proper chrome fenders of this size). Quality seems okay, although the rear fender came deformed, but it was nothing major - I was able to put it back into shape with bare hands. Installation wise - there is a reason why my bicycle doesn't come with the front fender. For starters - disk brakes. Everyone with disk brakes knows that you have to somehow clear them (by installing extra spacers on the brake side or just bending the mounting brace. Luckily, in my case Electra didn't even bother drilling the mounting holes, so I had an extra dimension to play with. I found a perfect spot to run the supplied U-shaped mounting brace, and drilled the mounting holes in the front fork where I needed them. Put the rivnuts in and that was done. I still had to bend the mounting brace a little bit around the brake caliper, but that is barely noticeable. Next problem was to clear the tire itself - while the fender does wrap around it nicely, the mounting brace goes under the fender, therefore eating from it's clearance a little bit. I had to bend the brace at the fender to make it protrude to the sides, before pointing towards the front fork. Needle nose pliers will do the job. Last comes the top mounting point. Usually you would just screw the fender to the fork or run a small hanger from the fork to the fender, but in my case of TT fork the mounting point on the fork was way to high. While I managed to make the L shaped aluminum hanger - it didn't feel sturdy at all with that length, the fender was just bouncing left and right, ringing like a cow bell. So I gave up on the traditional mounting method and decided to hang it between two clamps, which were strategically placed on the fork right next to the mounting point on the fender itself. Cut new aluminum plate and.. three bolts later - it's all in place stuck like glue! Rear fender was way easier to install, just because the bicycle already comes with one. I still had to drill one new hole in the fender, but other than that it all just nicely went into place. Trail ride few hours later confirmed that everything was holding up as expected and my face didn't encounter any road particles. ... show more

  • I have Women's FITO Marina 26" 7 speed in Vanilla
Size: 26" Color: Vanilla
I bought vanilla fenders based on the manufacturer's answer stating that Firmstrong Vanilla is same as Fito vanilla. For my Fito - 26" Marina Beach Cruiser in Vanilla. Firmstrong VANILLA is more like BANANA or BUTTER - My Fito Vanilla bike is like vanilla ice cream. Way different. In case this helps others. I have a Vanilla, FITO, 26" 7 Speed, Women's MARINA Beach Bike. There was enough contrast that we used them to make a two tone bike. Hoping to post a picture However - hubby had to do some bending and shaping for the chain to make these work for my Fito bike. Also the screws are too large for the holes in the Fito bike. Hubby enlarged the holes. ... show more

  • Aggravating that they can't sent the correct size screws! I have a Firmstrong bike.
The fenders are okay, although the yellow colors is bright yellow, and not the yellow-green pictured. I can live with it. But no directions came with the fenders and the screws do not fit to attach the back one, which is quite annoying. What should be a simple and easy addition to my Firmstrong bike, is not. Now I have to go to the store and search for the correct size screws. Still have not been able to attach the rear fender.... It doesn't seem to fit correctly... ! UGH Edited to say it's been months and no one in my household has been brave enough to tackle putting on the back fender. I saw a video that said to deflate the back tire to do so. Even then, it's a nearly impossible job. I am riding with one fender! ... show more
