So i've been sleeping on a pretty rough mattress and box spring for a couple of years. Needless to say I needed a new bed and found myself here. Delivery was quick and the whole process of unpacking the box was a breeze. It inflates almost as soon as you unwrap it, so make sure to have space. After an hour it foamed up to 8inches and after being impatient and using it it filled to 9. I think these kinds of defects are just gunna happen with such a convenient form of delivery so buyer beware I suppose? After my first couple nights of sleeping on it my back was so sore and I couldn't drift off. But it takes time for our bodies to acclimate to a new mattress. It is quite firm at first, but a gentle sink in does occur. This is a bed for heavy-set people, and folks with severe back pain. I'm laying on it now after rising for 11 hours. I bought the 10 inch. Right now, it is between 9-9.5 inches. It is definitely firm with a plush 2 inch topper. Very comfortable so far. .... If you are a very slim person, you might not have enough weight to sink into the bed. ... show more

This thing is FIRM!!!. So far it's holding up quite well. I added a small topper to it for a little bit of comfort and the idea is I can replace the topper easily and cheaply and maintain the firmness of the underlying mattress.
