The media could not be loaded. Still hopeful that this going to turn into a great happy story. We bought this and had it sitting in the box because we were gone for a few weeks. After getting around to installing this hood we found out that the inner shaft element was severely bent. I tried to bend it back into rectangular shape to be able to install the hood at all. But of course there is no fixing this for real on this highly reflective stainless surface. Luckily it all but disappeared in the external shaft because our ceiling is not very high. But be aware that all the stainless steel parts are of the absolute minimum strength and you have to be very very careful during installation in order not to be sorry for a long time. Installation was definitely challenging. The unit comes with a manual and a link for a video. Luckily the video includes information of what to do with the power plug - the manual doesn’t. They are also not matching in the sequence of instructions. We had to mount and unmount the unit multiple times until it was finally done. It was extremely difficult to impossible to remove some of the protective blue foil. In some places it is just tightly jammed in during the production and where possible we disassembled the elements to get to those places. For the shaft elements that is impossible with the result that there are just some residual blue remnants visible in the seams. Bottom line: Good looking unit, we’ll see how it works. Installation demanding. Definitely a bit of of a flimsiness factor in the experience. Would not recommend this to be installed by anyone that is either not fully focused or trying to get the job done quickly. ... show more

I installed this yesterday morning and my body still aches. It is a beautiful unit and once installed elegant and not too noisy. I am reconstructing an old house and all my joists are exposed and my wiring is new. The unit - to be used for full extraction and not recirculating - had no place for the cord to be routed through the ceiling plate. I wanted to install using their stated minimum height from the ceiling and this requires careful cutting of the stainless telescoping cover, otherwise the installation could not be completed using the sliding feature to access the mounting screws on the angle iron supports. There was no clamp for the exhaust tube where it meets the unit. There was no instruction as to whether or not to use the charcoal inserts if installed as a full exhaust fan. Do I like the unit YES, very much. Was it a pain to install, YES. The instructions were correct in that it needed a second person to lift the unit onto the hanging support bars. I do recommend the unit with all the caveats above. ... show more

My neighbor was concerned the suction wasn't working till she placed the instruction booklet net to the vents and it was held in place. It is pretty and works well however it DIDN'T have protection on the chimney part in the box so it dented. Also HARD INSTALL even for experienced person. Easy to assembly/install, but the telescoping nacelle had to be cut 12" (both sections) by a local sheetmetal shop. My ceiling was a little lower because a hanging cabinet that was removed. This hood is very nice, however, after getting an installer, when unboxing, we noticed 2 pieces of Styrofoam packing were broken and floating inside the box. Upon further investigation as we took the pieces out, the outside chimney piece was crimped on 2 sides...I'm really disappointed but was able to install that piece backwards so the dents are on the inside facing the cabinets but it is still not perfect...poor packing for shipment is the bottom line. I still gave 4 stats because the fan has very good suction and is very quiet. Lights are bright enough too. I cannot find a spot to contact seller privately about the damage or how they want to handle it. Will update review if anything changes. ... show more

A part came damaged. I was 10 days out of the return policy and was turned away by Amazon to have the cover replaced. It will be a huge eyesore if I can’t get the dents out. Other than that, it works well.
