If you want a basic no frills case to protect your kindle - this is the case for you. I just replaced my 7th gen kindle (10 yrs old. Needed charging more often) with the new 7 inch kindle. I bought the same Fintie case 10 yrs ago for my then brand new 6 inch kindle. Over the years this case never failed. So when I ordered my new kindle I bought the Fintie case at the same time. Perfect fit. Slim and trim. The magnet keeps the case closed and starts the kindle when I open the case. I bought the basic black case for $9.95. What a deal. For a few dollars more you can get different colors and designs. I really like the composition book design. If I were still in school that's the one I would have bought. I chose this because it was a close match to the ancient case (Kindle branded, not Fintie) I used on my Gen 1 Paperwhite for well over a decade. This Fintie is a good case, and good value for the price. I wish the magnets were arranged so that when the cover is folded all the way back, it would hold in place. But that’s a nit-pick. Most of the ways I hold it while reading are just fine without such an arrangement. I haven’t had it long enough to report on durability, but the materials and construction seem pretty solid. Overall a very nice case. I love the look of it and it fits the Kindle Colorsoft perfectly. Will definately provide added protection and I love that it works with the sleep and awake features on the Kindle. My only complaint is the magnet isn't quite as strong as on other cases I have had. I lost my kindle and replaced it. This case was on sale and fits the Kindle Paperwhite 12 Gen. Easy to snap in the kindle. The cover does magnetically turn on/shut off the kindle on open/close. The cover is nice. It is a hard material on the outside and a soft felt on the interior. The cover is thinner than the fake leather I had on the lost kindle. The outside of the cover has a nice texture that helps hold the kindle (not slippery). Reading at night on my side I use the cover in a tent mode, as a kickstand, to read. ... show more
