I was actually shocked how high quality this lock is given the price. The materials are heavy duty polished metal and the lock feels and looks fantastic! Installation was super easy for me, it was a direct replacement and I didn't even have to replace the receiver plate (Strike plate) on the door frame. I just took the old lock out, and put the new one in. It has the ability to do different size doors and latch lengths, and comes with a pattern, but myn fit out of the box. TIP: I used the old screws to secure the face plate with the latch. This was to make sure I didn't re-thread the wood as the screws were different thread sizes. The original screws created those threads, so less damage to the wood threads. Physical security of this lock seems great, when it is locked, the handle just goes down freely on the outside, so someone can't just break it open. Electronic security of this thing seems top shelf as it's using standard smart lock protocols. You can use the standard Tuya app, but I use the very similar and popular Smart Life app. Fingerprint reading seems very good, we'll see how it does in the winter. Entering a code with the keypad also works great. And of course there's a physical key you can use on the very end of the handle in case battery dies, etc. And if you don't have the key, there's a USB plug you can supply external power from the outside to power it and get in. I used lithium AAA batteries instead of alkaline as they have more capacity and no chance of leaking, but more importantly they perform better in lower temps and where I have it can get chilly. I'll have to see if I get accurate battery low warnings. Sometimes devices will accurately give you low battery warning with lithiums but sometimes they don't as they're tuned to alkaline. Only time will tell as I expect the batteries to last many months. Note, this is a bluetooth only lock, not Wifi, so it's not online all the time and you can't unlock it remotely. I knew the going in, and don't really need that. But you of course can create different codes for different people with different expirations etc. I don't really use that either. ... show more

Originally the door handle worked well. I could program it to read all my family's fingerprints and the numeric code worked well. The fingerprints scanner was somewhat finicky. You have to get the fingerprint exactly in the same place each time. More difficult then a phone's fingerprint scanner. It was working fine until I had to replace the batteries after just over a month. Then it wouldn't turn on again. It is now dead and just like any other door handle. We have to use a key now if we want to open it. The manual is limited in its troubleshooting and we've tried everything listed. The only contact that is listed is an email. Still haven't heard back for several weeks now. I actually liked it in the beginning as it was a great price and it did its job pretty well. Cheap price apparently is part of the limited warranty and no customer service. My advice is spend a little more money on something more reliable and a product backed up by a functioning organization. ... show more
