These filters seem to be about 1/2 inch too short on the 25" side for my new furnace. I purchased 6 and just replaced the first one. It does not fit properly and sits tilted in the vent because it falls off the track where it should sit level. I hope I will be able to return the 5 that are not open, as it was quite an expense. They are not going to work for me. The company rep was very helpful and when I explained that I am supposed to order a 20x25x5 filter and not the 20x25x4" one, they allowed an exchange of my unopened filters for a few of the proper size.     • Your furnace/AC may not handle it well and may be bad for it.

These filters are very well made and filter just about anything bad in the air. BUT, since they have such a high FPR / MERV rating, the air DOES NOT flow through them so easily. This is VERY bad on the furnace, and could overtime create some bigger issues. When i turn on air/heat it is VERY loud, which is caused by the air trying to flow through, not just the filter, but any gaps it can find because it is unable to pul the air throught this filter easily. It restricts the air flow so much that after a while, the filter sort of deforms, and bow in because it is not supported in the inside of the air intake (only on the edges). When this happens, the side of the filter also deforms little, curve in and that creates gap between the filter housing and filter; allowing unfiltered air going through the furnace. The furnace also stops working randomly while the house is being warmed up (before reaching the desired temperature.) I believe there is some safety system in the furnace that stops the fan if it is working too hard. Few minutes later it resumes and heats up the house again. Last night i bought low FPR filter from hardware store for $5. I will be only using low FPR filters going forward because i purchased Austin Air air purifier and rely on that to filter the air instead. ... show more
