MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values which reports a filter's ability to capture microscopic particles ranging from 0.3 and 10 microns (µm). They seem fine, but don't allow great airflow compared to my last ones, get a whiring sound when the AC is on and have a slight fear they will be 'sucked' into the vent... Might add a brace to be safe... other wise seem very good.... dunno
