Buying beds online is nerve wracking because no matter how much research you do, or how many reviews you read, you just never know for sure until you sleep on it. I bought two supposedly "firm" Dreamcloud mattresses, one for over a thousand, and another one for $700, and had to return them both. Luckily, they have a good return policy. So then I went to two mattress stores and they were seriously over-priced. A truly firm mattress is not easy to find, and definitely not cheap. But this one is firm, and it is affordable. I'm glad I took a chance and ordered this one. It really is firm and comfortable and well-made. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the edge support isn't great -- if you're like me and you sit on the edge of your bed to put on your socks in the morning, you will dip forward. ... show more

This bed was for a 270 pound female 40 years old with back aches. It has been about a month and her aches are gone. A 60lb dog also sleeps on the bed with her. Will it last a while stay tuned. It has a nice firm surface.

I haven't bought a new mattress in about 24 years. I had some lower back pain that was getting to be a problem. I decided to take some advice from colleges and try a new mattress. I didn't like the prices for what was available, but I did find this mattress. I wasn't sure if it would be right for me. I ordered the firm mattress and was able to set it up (it expanded immediately). I gave it 30 hours before I tried it and it was very comfortable. Excellent lumbar support! Sorry to have to write this terrible review of the queen mattress I recently purchased. I had previously purchased two full sized mattresses from PurrJoys, separately over the past year. Both mattresses arrived in nice condition and have firm, squared corners with smooth top surfaces and are structurally sound. Unfortunately the queen mattress I purchased this past December was a total mess. Breaking the vacuum seal a firm ridge of bunched up memory foam appeared running the entire length of the top surface. Upon further inspection I found that it was a result of the topper materials being cut too large for the mattress. The oversized materials seem to have been forced to fit the perimeter of the mattress. It was impossible for the top surfaces of the mattress to level off as a result As well, the four corners structure were collapsed and remained that way well after two weeks of inflating. Amazon was helpful in contacting the manufacturer (PurrJoys). But because the vendor was not considered preferred by Amazon it did not qualify for return through Amazon. PurrJoys was not willing to retrieve the mattress and offered me an unacceptable 50% refund to keep the useless mattress. The cost of disposing and replacing the mattress far exceeded offered refund. I rejected the offer and never heard from PurrJoys again. Only after numerous texts to Amazon customer service and some aggressive conversations was I refunded in full for the mattress with compensation for disposal by Amazon. I appreciate Amazon for providing the final settlement. I’m sharing this long story with you because, as the Amazon representative pointed out, when purchasing items like mattresses it’s very important to consider Amazon prime or Amazon preferred products as those products are typically eligible for full refund and Amazon return services. In my case, the manufacturer (PurrJoys) abandoned their customer with an inferior product and out-of-pocket expenses, leaving me to come up with a resolution to the issue. I hope sharing the story with you is helpful when considering a purchase of this type. ... show more
