I had an electrostatic air filter many years ago but it had a plastic frame that eventually fell apart. When I moved and the HVAC intake vent was a different size, I stuck with fibrous filters for a couple years. However, the dust still blown into the rooms is a hassle but I didn't want a higher MERV rating that impeded air flow further (more strain on HVAC unit). I figured I'd try this filter and since it has an aluminum frame it will probably hold up better than my old one in the past. It arrived in good condition (no dents or misshapen) and looks great. After installing easily and quickly, I ran the heater and could feel the difference in airflow - much greater than before. The dust level is less than HALF of what I was getting daily when the heater would run. There's no rattling, no noise at all - it just works. So far I'm very pleased - if there's any change I'll update the review. Great value!

Seems to be well made, just doesn't align up with your replacement filter you normally use. I use a 20 x 25 x1, when I first installed this (and yes I did leave the black corner pieces on in a feeble attempt to take up space). Each time my unit would kick on, if hear this loud metal whap! The filter getting sucked to the drop down gate. I ended up cutting a small piece of wood molding/trim and layed it on the bottom to fill the extra ~1/2" space needed. Yes it was that much! I'll update this review in a few months.
