Features

  • [Flagship-grade beryllium-plated diaphragm driver]With FiiO's typical flagship-grade headphone technology, the FD1 headphone dynamic driver is made of high-end beryllium, known for being light, thin yet extremely rigid. It brings you a sense of movement and power, shaping majestic sound performances. That means 4 times more rigid than steel, three fourth lighter than titanium, and sound velocity up to 12KM/s.Extraordinary configuration just perfectly matches with you.
  • [Two-way magnetic circuit design, powerful driven capacity]The FD1 earphone dynamic driver is designed with an N50 two-way magnetic circuit having a 55% magnetic flux promotion and nearly 1 Tesla of magnetic field intensity compared with the traditional single magnetic circuit. The double magnetic flux activates forceful driven capacities that enable energetic, robust bass performances and even full and delightful transient responses.
  • [Patented balanced pressure relief technology, for long-time wearing]The beryllium diaphragm coupled with the two-way magnetic circuit design allows improved bass acoustic pressure and deeper bass explosion. Plus FiiO patented balanced pressure relief technology, the pressure is able to stay in a balanced state after precise counting and adjusting. You can comfortably enjoy hi-res music for a long time with no burdens.
  • [Gold-plated retaining ring, stable vocalization unit]The FD1 earbuds is meticulously designed with a gold-plated aluminium alloy retaining ring and sound tube for each unit, beautifying the FD1 and simultaneously providing way stable cavity for the audible unit, achieving incredible sound quality. The loose and atmospheric bass, clearly transparent mids and high-resolution treble, are specially tuned with relatively balanced distributions.
  • [Higher-standard upgraded accessory,4-stranded high-purity monocrystalline copper cable]Included with the FD1 HiFi headphone is the cable made of braided Litz wires, 30 cores per strand, 4 strands in a total of 120 cores. Ensuring better audio transmission performance under the naturally-occurring yet adverse "skin" and "proximity" effects. What this means for actual listening is improved bass, hauntingly realistic vocals, as well as obviously promoted sound quality.

  • Winner, winner. For those looking for a daily
Color: Black
I’m a certified basshead (that's what the doctor tells me : ), with an aversion to elevated spikes in the 4K range. The FD1 would classify as a 9/10, on the basshead metering system. There's always that 10th person that wants their teeth to rattle and there eyes to bulge. Like most DD only IEMs, the FD1 needs to be broken in. After playing back music on them (at a moderate level of volume) for 24 hrs, this is what I found: The FD1 addresses the frequency response range very well. From the sub 20 hz, to the upper regions, well into my danger zone. Thankfully I don't find the FD1 to be fatiguing. I wouldn't classify them as overly warm, like some find the very popular Blon BL03. If like me, you keep the BL-03 in your rotation, but you'd like an alternative with a rich sub bass, without a discernible amount of mid bass bleed, while maintaining of level of clarity for Instruments and vocals. then FD1 will do you right. Pros Takes to EQ very well Sub bass with authority, Clean mid bass, No discernible sibilance/hiss, that would cut my listening time Wide presentation, Vocals are well balanced, against instruments Cons Honeymoon phase. I'll check back in, after a few more days of break in. I used a streaming service to test the FD1 against some of my test songs: 1. “In the Air Tonight”, Phil Collins On most of my budget friendly IEMs the playback sounds pinched; on the FD1 It plays wide. That chorus of “Remember” is outside of my head. 2. “When I get my hands on you”, Lost on the River The sub bass is deep, with no discernible mid bass bleed. 3. ”Yesterday”, Beatles While the song has a minimal amount of instruments, there's great separation. Vocals are just in the right place, forward, but not dominating. 4. “Hotel California“, Eagles (7:12 version) 1st 30 seconds are impactful and clear, kick drum feels like you’re at a live concert. Vocals are spot on; especially considering the era that this song is from. 5. ”House of the Rising Sun”, Animals This is a song (as much as I like it) that I can’t normally playback at a respectable level of volume, without fatiguing my ears. No irritation to speak of. The included cable is one of the best that I've seen in the sub $100 category; I would have no qualms in using it, but I lean towards balanced cables, for my Radsone ES100. In the attached image, the clear tipped cable (on the left) is a 16 core KBear, with a TFZ/NX7 termination. As you can see, the KBear can sit flush to the shell, vs. the stock cable. In one of the Fiio diagrams, they point out that the base of the connection has a vent release. So if you choose to get a TFZ/NX7 termination, you can opt to leave a minute gap, for the vent. ETA: 72 hrs in The FD1 hasn't changed. So unlike some offerings that suggest 100 hrs. of burn in, the FD1 is good to go in under 24 hrs. The width of the sound stage can not be understated; add to that an on demand sub bass, clear mids (devoid of mid bass bleed) and just enough sparkle to make you pause and you have an IEM that will please most. (cables again) Even though the FD1 and the FH1s would be considered Fiio's lower tier, the stock SE cable is the best that I've experienced in the last few years, for the sub $100 USD category. No need to immediately jump on the aftermarket options. But once you do, even an inexpensive balanced cable will increase the sound stage, for both depth and width. Night and day, no, but enough that the difference can not be argued. ... show more

  • Nice sound quality for the price, one small gripe
I always like fiio products so this is a nice addition to my collection, great overall sound with a nice punchy bass, I use these with my fiio btr5 and they work like a champ will consider buying a balanced audio cable, my only complaint is that I did not order the black color, the case as you can see in my picture was clearly the correct one but the buds where black not blue, I'm not gonna return it but it was annoying ... show more

  • Setting the Bar for Excellent Sound and Build
Color: Black
If you like a slightly V shaped sound signature with excellent detail, you won’t find many IEMs better at this price. In my opinion they are nearly as good as their cheaper cousin, the Jade Audio EA1 which I find to be more balanced. But honestly, these sound as good or better than many IEMs I have that cost well over $100. The sound signature is had a decent push in the bass and treble. Mids are rich and present with an excellent tonal quality you find from a good dynamic driver. To me, the measure of a good earphone is its ability to deliver bass that is strong and punchy, but not muddy; with highs that are detailed and have an air that gives spatial presence without getting harsh or sibilant. These do that very well, irrespective of price. Build is very good and can be worn comfortably for hours. If these were handed to me blind, I would have thought these were a more expressive product. Sound stage is decently wide left to right and provides a good sense of depth and space; especially considering the price. Detail is also good and coherent as you would expect from a dynamic driver. Overall tonality is quite smooth with a warm signature and robust sub-bass. But you still get the high frequency clarity of cymbals and triangles in both attack and decay. These have some of the best and natural highs I have heard at any price. While it is very good, there a few areas it misses. But not by much. One, the bass is a bit strong for the balanced frequency signature I prefer. Some will love the baas emphasis, but it’s a minor miss for me. Detail and imaging are good, but not on par with more expensive earphones; especially in the upper mids and treble. This may be a trade off for the warmer tonality. But something more expensive earphones manage to pull off. Very pleased these for the price. Hats off to FIIO on a fantastic product. They are proving that inexpensive Beryllium drivers can sound almost as good as TOTL IEMs that cost loads more cash. Get these before they go up in price. ... show more
