The media could not be loaded. Have about 3 hours of runtime on it all horizontally drilling 1/2” holes. Does it have play in the slides…. Yes Does the motor visibly spark around the brush contacts… yes Is there excessive backlash in the crank mechanism… also yes. But is it the best new mag drill I think you can get for a few hundred dollars…. Absolutely. In the end, it drills straight, the magnet holds it well and it does the job. Even with my hand sharpened drill bit I drilled all 30 holes through 1/4”-1/2” plates without ever sharpening the but and still throwing 6-8” long chips the whole time. I never would have been able to maintain positioning in that chamber and done that by hand, let alone the standard hand drill overheating when using them for that long. ... show more

We have gone through 3 different types of mag drills, they tend to get pushed to their limits in a fabrication shop, but so far this magdrill has been up to the challenge. Great features such as the ability to install a drill bit chuck , speed control, and the column itself is very stout. No slop for tight tolerance of holes and for saving your annular cutters from destruction. If I have to replace it, I'd buy the same one again ... show more

It was delivered yesterday and use today, it made short work of drilling 1/2” plate multiple times very quickly. I would absolutely recommend over the more expensive alternatives!

Had no issues making a lot of holes in quarter inch, half inch, and 5/8 plate. Speed adjustment works. Seems to have plenty of torque. Magnet offers plenty of strength. Coolent tank leaks slightly. Overall, for the price, can't go wrong.

Would not stick to 1/4 inch steel. Other than that it seems like a good drill.

This didn't turn on right out of the box. I was sent to a troubleshooting page as a way to make it right. I feel that I should not have to work on it the day I received it so I asked for a refund.

I wasn't able to open the drill the day I received it. When I opened it some time later the very top plastic guard had a crack in it. I reported it to Zelcan on May 22nd and they had a replacement top to me by May 29th!!! I will buy from them again no doubt. Thus far, the drill is working great, I haven't worked it super hard just yet but so far, for my purposes, it's what I want and need. Thanks y'all! ... show more
