Top Amazon Reviews

  • Well done, Fifine. You’ve done a fantastic job with K669B!
Color: Black
Once I started podcasting and narrating my books it didn’t take long to figure out I needed a microphone that was better than the built-in mics in any of my Macs or my iPhone. I asked around and did (very) little research. A trusted podcaster I know recommended the Blue Yeti but I wasn’t all that enthusiastic about dropping $125 on something that could soon end of collecting dust. So, I decided on the Fifine K669B. I’m mean, it’s only $29 at Amazon and it’s Prime Eligible so there was very little to lose. Some of you might know that I worked in high end audio for decades and have reviewed well over a hundred high end products. I’ve also been formally and informally involved of scores of recording sessions from pop to classical. But, I’ve never actually reviewed a microphone. The more I thought about it the more I realized that something really critical to proper audio reviewing was missing. There’s no reference. Nearly all of the web and youtube reviews of mics compare one mic to another. I understand this temptation but the "better or worse" game that’s pretty much useless in evaluating playback gear is even more useless in evaluating source gear. Why? Let’s say it again…there’s no reference. A given reviewer may like the way his voice sounds on Mic A instead of Mic B but that is no predictor of whether you or anyone else will like the sound of their voice when captured by Mic A. A significant part of mic performance can be evaluated objectively but most reviewers confine their objective comments to features which is fine as far as that goes, but features do not relate directly to quality when you’re talking about audio fidelity. So, what will say about the Fifine? I will say it’s fine…for me. It uses a fixed cardioid pattern that’s well suited to my simple needs and is truly plug & play (at least on a Mac). Also, the little fellow is nicely put together, seemingly solid, yet not overly heavy. Some will surely complain about the captive USB cable but at least you know that if you remembered to bring the mic you also remembered to bring the cable! The only adjustment on the mic is for volume and I found the sensitivity to be plenty wide for my needs and is quite smooth in its rotation. The volume knob has a reassuringly heavy feel and is easy to position precisely and consistently. I found set up to be as simple as plugging the mic in and hitting record and I hereby designate the sound quality as just dandy (I know, too many technical terms). For $29 there’s just nothing for me to complain about. Lastly, the Fifine Folks appear to be very responsive at least related to their Amazon sales. This is especially impressive for such an inexpensive product and shows that the company understands that early efforts related to customer service will help them build their brand over time. Well done, Fifine. You’ve done a fantastic job with K669B. ... show more

  • A solid microphone for the price
Color: Black
It's a straightforward USB microphone. With simple plug-and-play functionality, this mic is easy to set up. Goodfor Discord and gaming, your voice comes through loud and clear. One thing to keep in mind is its sensitivity to background noise. While it captures your voice fine, it can also pick up background noise and the like. Overall, the K669B is a reliable choice for anyone needing an affordable USB microphone. ... show more

  • It's very good
Color: Rose red
I used it on a desktop and I was told it has very good sound quality with the people I was talking with. The USB connector works and is better than using the audio jacks, because I was using them for my headphones. It stays in a sturdy position and folds compactly when you need to put it aside. I always used the same volume level but I'd say it's definitely enough to pick up your voice. ... show more

  • Great simple mic for musicians!
Color: Black
Good clear response across frequency spectrum, picks up quiet sounds very well. Used for acoustic guitar and vocals. Recommend tilting up toward your face if you play and sing at the same time, or the guitar will dominate the sound. Another reviewer said this mic had bad latency and couldn’t be used for looping, but I had different results. Plugged into a 2017 MacBook Pro running in Logic I get 5-10ms latency which is not noticeable. Able to layer vocal harmonies without issue. Bass levels might be a bit low, but maybe I’m used to less balanced mics. Seems perfectly capable for voiceover work or (in my case) amateur music production. Recommend a pop filter or foam cover. Could use a mute button, but no biggie. Overall great cheap usb condenser mic, better deal than a blue yeti if all you need is cardioid. ... show more

  • Punching 2 to 3 times Its Price!
Color: Rose red
So I got this microphone with no particular expectations, but I did need a microphone to have at a secondary location. However, my budget would not allow me to get what I use for the content I normally correct which is Marantz MPM-2000u Microphone. The TLDR is I am beyond impressed with the sound quality of this microphone for the price of admission. So lets get into the list of pros and cons! Pros: -Universal Plug and Play- Plug in and just works (tested on MacOS Catalina, Windows 10, and Manjaro Linux) -Solid build quality (has a nice metal feel and weight to it even though its much smaller than my Marantz) -Sound quality- I could rant and rave for hours about this but my expectation were low and I have now had to readjust what my expectations of the sound quality of lower cost mics do to this one. ( I would put the sound quality just slightly behind the Blue Yeti) -Price- The barrier to entry for Podcasting, Gaming, content creation etc just got lowered. This is hands down a great starting microphone for any new content creator, or gamer looking for a low cost streaming microphone. -Physical Volume Control- This has a physical volume button on the actual microphone which is a great thing to have if you have ever done any audio recordings (this is something my 100+ dollar Marantz mic doesnt even have) Cons -No headphone jack- So you cant monitor your own audio but given the price it is understandable -USB cord- The USB cord is built into the mic so it is not replaceable cord is decent length but could be maybe just a bit longer though at this price for the microphone does it really matter? -Sound quality- I know i put this as a pro a very big one this is more for audiophiles etc. While this mic punches in a weight class 2 to 3 times its price in sound quality, this mic will pick up some background noise that those more expensive mic more than likely wont. Those are really the only "Cons" and they are not really cons more critiques for Fifine for when they do their next version of this mic. This is a quality microphone hitting well above its weight class. ... show more
