Description

Field King Max 190348 Professional No Leak Pump Backpack Sprayer does the work of a piston or diaphragm backpack sprayer. The exclusive internal No Leak Pump keeps your back and clothing dry. The paddles keep liquids, powders, and water-soluble solutions mixed, in solution, and ready to spray. Also the pump features Viton seals that can be easily changed within minutes without tools (up to 7x faster than the leading competitor). The premium shut-off offers a comfort grip, lockable trigger to prevent hand fatigue, and a removable in- line filter to reduce clogging. The Field King Max 190348 Backpack Sprayer is capable of spraying up to 150 PSI - perfect for those hard-to-reach areas. The included pressure regulator maintains a low, continuous 25 PSI (great for spraying herbicides). The foldable pump handle reverses for left- or right- handed use, and the tank has a built-in carry handle with wand storage. Our deluxe harness features a full back pad, wide support waist belt and chest cinch strap ensuring comfort while you work. Multiple nozzles are included for ultimate versatility: brass adjustable nozzle (enables stream to cone patterns), wide flat fan nozzle (red, 0.25 GPM, angled at 70°), narrow flat fan nozzle (yellow, 0.15 GPM, angled at 30°), and foaming nozzle. Also accepts TeeJet nozzles.

  • Much Better, Much Much Better
Style: Sprayer
This unit, Model 190348, is a replacement / upgrade for the Model 190328 which has a pump handle that is not as pictured, i.e., it stays in a horizontal, not vertical, position for storage. The Model 190348 was received on schedule with no issues. The packing box had a single layer of tape indicating that the unit was new and not a used/refurbished unit. Assembly was quick and required no special tools, just 2 half inch wrenches. I tried the unit out after assembly and it worked fine, better than anticipated in fact. Additionally, the harness is an improvement over the Model 190328, but unless you’re going to spend long periods of time with the sprayer I’m not sure this would be the extra money for the improved harness. When I went to put the unit away, I noticed that the pump handle would not move to the vertical position. After a quick look I noticed that the pump handle has 2 holes set at 90 degrees. The solution is simple, remove the nut and bolt, move the handle 90 degrees upward and reinstall the nut and bolt. Simple, but time consuming. But there is a solution, a very simple solution to this issue. First, remove the nut and bolt, now store them somewhere out of the way, you’re not going to need them. Second, get a clevis pin, example in the second photo, and put it through the hole in the handle and pump shaft mechanism. Third, secure the clevis pin in place and you’re done. Want the handle down, remove the pin, move the handle down 90 degrees, put the pin back in and secure. Ready to put the sprayer away, remove the pin, move the handle up 90 degrees, put the pin back in and secure. This takes way, way less time than getting 2 wrenches to loosen the nut from the bolt and then un thread the bolt from the handle/pump shaft. I should note that in my case, the diameter of the clevis pin was perfect for the hole through the handle but a little large for the treaded hole in the pump shaft. As I had a pin and it fit the large of the two holes the solution to the problem was to drill out the threads in the pump shaft. The increase in diameter necessary to accommodate my pin was 0.050 inches. Not enough to decrease the integrity of the pump shaft. In fact a portion of the threads was still observable in the pump shaft hole. If you don’t want to drill out the pump shaft just buy a clevis pin of the appropriate diameter. I would not suggest significantly increasing the diameter of the holes through the pump handle. No point in potentially reducing its integrity. So, in recap, this is a great sprayer and can be made even easier to use by replacing the bolt and nut securing the pump handle in place with a clevis pin. ... show more

  • Quite simply the best pump sprayer - Period
Style: Sprayer
I've owned 6 or 7 pump sprayers over the years from high-end nitrile / Viton sprayers to cheap junk and I can honestly say the Field King Max 190348 Backpack Sprayer is exceptional. It's incredibly well thought out, comes almost fully assembled (with the exception of needing to attach the pump lever (either right or left side depending on your preference), and is an incredibly well built and assembled quality product. ... show more

  • Quality is Beauty
Style: Sprayer
Quality is Beauty! When it comes to manufactured products and when the purpose sets the design parameters the quality and attention to detail is what sets products apart one from the other. The quality in this product starts with the company and its attitude towards customers. The first thing I noticed is how many of the answers to questions are from the company. That says they are paying attention and care that their customers get good service. I don't understand companies that treat customers like idiots and are rude or indifferent to them. Half the sale is in the product. The other half is in customer service. The product was shipped quickly and arrived without damage. The first thing I noticed on unboxing it was the beefy hose between the tank and the control handle. Well done. Then the SS wand! Take a look at the built in handle for carrying the unit. Awesome. The clips for storing the wand: Attention to detail. The rotating pump handle that allows it to be stored upright and the snap strap for holding it in place! Someone in the design department was paying attention and that is greatly appreciated. But what "pumps" my enthusiasm meter highest is the harness. Good God, how does anyone sell a Backpack sprayer with anything less than a full harness? How long can you last with wimpy little straps digging into your shoulders as you walk around with 50 to 60 lbs on your back? The people that sell those should be forced to walk around in them for a day! With bricks in the tank. Are you listening Tractor Supply? My first use will be with the red nozzle that puts out a high volume as I spray buttercup and broad leaf weeds in the horse's paddocks. I use a spray that is non-toxic to horses but does a fine job on the weeds. Then the pastures have to be sprayed. They contain Thistle, Polk Weed, Amaranthus [Pig Weed], Milk Weed, Stinging Nettle, all dangerous to horses. I am ecstatic to have a sprayer that will get the job done without being the Marquis de Sade as I walk around ten acres. This is a beautiful product that will be even more so if it holds up to use. I'll be back in 6 to 12 months to report on how robust the unit is and what quirks there may be lurking in wait. I expect the engineers/designers have done there job and it will perform flawlessly. [For those people who get PO'd at the company because you get one that leaks or has another problem, you really need to think this through. First, NO company puts out a complex product that is 100% on 100% of their units. Not possible. Even the much vaunted Apple ships units that have problems. As do all mobile phone, auto, appliance, computer manufacturers, to name a few manufacturing industries. The point is to not give them one star and act pissy but to bring the problem to the attention of the company and see how they handle it. If they give you the run-around, lie to you, are indifferent or rude, that's the time to throw down one star and get pissy. But give them a chance to set things right cause if they do, that is gold, and a company you want in your "Top Companies" list.] ... show more

  • Filter Basket Assembly
Style: Sprayer
Having used solo backpack sprayers for 20+ years with no problems, I found it disappointing that the field king sprayer 190348 had gasket problems with the fill gasket basket assembly. The rubber gasket after little use became stretched/distorted and prevented the Cap from sealing properly. The manufacturer, fountain head group, offered to send a Filter Basket Assemplby w/new gasket FOR $14. This Expense and time for this sprayer was a hassle. I RECOMMEND SOLO BACK PACK SPRAYER 425. ... show more

  • Well made, great function!
Style: Sprayer
This is a very well constructed and functioning backpack sprayer, i would give it 4.5 stars. I think some people think the handle is wrong one because they don't understand the instructions that require you to rotate the handle in the socket, different positions for use and Storage. And if it leaked maybe because they left the strainer basket out of fill hole, it must be in place as the top edge is the sealing gasket. I turned my filled take practically upside down w no leakage. Great unit! ... show more
