  • Perfect for many crosscuts
Typical Festool quality. This shorter length is perfect for a lot of cuts, including angle cuts. Well worth the cost.

  • Must have for Festool plunge saw!
Festool, the best. I just got this and have been using steadily for the past week building plywood cabinets. I have the 80" as well but too cumbersome for short cuts, so got the shorter one for smaller pieces - along with the coupler that allows longer cuts by joining the two. Easy to use, requires a little bit of play to determine exactly where the final cut would be so you can line up properly. I also use a couple of dewalt clamps that fit in the rail track to secure it to the workpiece. Festoon seems as well but the dealt are cheaper and work very well. Be careful when taking the clamp off as the rail is light enough that if the piece is skinnier than the rail it can flip and land on the floor. The aluminum is fragile so you can end up with a slightly bent corner when it hits a hard floor. I use this rail with the Festool plunge saw, and get a straight accurate cut each time. In addition to cutting plywood I used it to cut some old, thick (approx 2 1/2") stringers I had around. At 16' they were hampering my floor space in the workshop. Cut easily and now I think I will use the two rails together to trim the boards so I can join them - for a desktop or even a workbench. The rails allow you to take off the slightest amount easily and accurately. ... show more

  • Perfect for repetitive cuts
The short track was a life saver when cutting stair treads from a 2x12, the standard track was too long to keep moving tread to tread and my free hand circ saw work leaves a bit to be desired.

  • It’s festool
Ought this by accident but has come in handy so many times for small quick crosscuts. I’ll own them all before too ling

  • Short and sweet
We were siding a very angled A-frame house and faces with severely angled cuts (greater than any miter saw could handle in terms of angle and depth). This little track used with my 55 worked a charm. Use trigonometry to calculate the rise and run of the angle, place tick marks on the board and set the track on the marks... you'll get really good clean steep angles cuts. ... show more

  • Great Supplier
Am a new subscriber to Festool and Hartville. I must say that Hartville has met the challenge of getting product orders and shipped quickly. Im extremely happy with Hartville and their service.

  • Stupid expensive but essential and eventually worth it
So it loses a star for a couple reasons: Both this and the replacement plastic edge are way overpriced and festool provides no extras with it At this price and for such a precise item it really should come with a hard case. Festool doesn't even make one! The crappy case they do make is just a bag. Otherwise, I love the saw and this item is somewhat essential for it. Really annoying they don't just have a larger systainer that includes the saw and this smallest track, but alas it's this or go with much more mediocre options (makita makes a really solid one though but the savings are super significant) ... show more
