Description

The new self-cleaning filter bags for the CT MIDI dust extractor solves a problem that plagues other dust extractors and vacuums. During normal use, fine particles of dust cling to the inner lining of the filter bag resulting in caking. This coating of dust lowers the effective suction power dramatically resulting in poor extraction efficiency and performance. Caking can also cause additional strain on your dust extractor's motor and contribute to premature failure. Festool has addressed this issue by developing a unique pliable fleece filter bag. Because the bag is not rigid like many other types of bags, such as paper bags, it prevents caking. This means that your Festool CT 36 dust extractor continues to deliver full suction until the bag is virtually completely full. Other manufacturers feet bags do not counter this caking effect and suction is reduced dramatically throughout the use of the bag, often resulting in a situation where suction is lost before the bag is completely full. When this occurs, you're paying full price for a partially used bag. The Festool filter bag also serves as a pre-filter and is able to trap dust particles down to five millionths of a meter, or 5 microns. This is about the same size as a red blood cell. By arresting these small particles, in addition to larger chips, the bag extends the life of your main HEPA filter, reducing wear and tear as well as the expense of frequent filter replacement. Bag disposal is quick and mess-free. An integrated closure on the bag shuts the opening to prevent spilling. The material is made to be tear resistant and prevent bag blow outs which can be messy to clean up. Now, that's smart. Includes five (5) bags.

They're not cheap, but you know that. They'r easy to replace and actually seem to hold more than you might expect. The dust extractor really "packs" the dirt in so they go a long way. I wouldn't use it for general floor cleaning as that would be costly. I keep a Rigid shopvac around for bag-free bulk cleaning. ... show more

Super-fine filter. In this case that means that it is a super filter AND that it catches fine dust well. Fit perfectly in my MIDI--as it should. I like the closure port to seal the bag when removing. Price worked out to $5.14 per bag. Hefty. I use a dust cyclone between my tools and the MIDI. That really stretches the lifespan of these bags. I don't know that I love a filter bag on a dust collector, but they fit perfectly in the Festool Midi and work great for their intended purpose. The prices for these are set by Festool, so factor in the cost of sales tax in your purchase decisions.

Not a pretty product or something you want on your mantelpiece, but at the price you may want to think about storing it in a bank vault for safekeeping. These should be used alongside some additional vortex dust collection system in order to prolong their functional use if you want to get any value out of them. In any case, these are not really designed to capture large chunks of waste, their purpose is to capture fine dust particles. As far their filtration capabilities are concerned, these bags are noticeably better capable of capturing dust particles than any other brand of Hepa filter we have ever used. We deployed a particle counter in a sealed environment and tested over a dozen different brands in a series of in house trials. The Festool filter came up tops every time by capturing a) the most particles and b) the finest particles. This is a quality product at an excessive premium. ... show more

These bags are not by any means cheap, but a must have. They will fill to a solid dust brick before the extractor loses much suction, a marvel in Festool's engineering. They close up and are disposable without making any mess of dust like with a dust collector.
