  • Good stuff if a little pricey
Style: P80 Grit Unit Count: 50.0
Festool makes some of the best tools in the world and their accessories are top notch as well. There is an old adage that says you should change sanding paper like someone else was paying for it. Luckily, this paper consistently lasts a long time. This particular grit works very well for material removal and shaping. As part of a system, which Festool is, you would have a hard time finding better sandpaper. ... show more

  • Fine finish
Style: P800 Grit Unit Count: 50.0
Use this before moving to the 1200 and you will have a museum quality surface reeady for finishing with oil or buffing to a shine without any finish other than war. Use of hard/exotic woods.

  • Good vacuum sanding setup
Style: P80 Grit Unit Count: 50.0
80 grit discs match up with Festool orbital sander. Good vacuum removal of dust.

  • Longest lasting paper by a mile.

Don’t waste your money on less expensive paper. These discs outlast them all.

  • New Festool abrasives
Style: P60 Grit Unit Count: 50
I have switched to the new Granat papers for all of my wood sanding. I am a hobbyist woodworker, making furniture. The paper is a new formulation from Festool, that lasts longer than their other papers and does not load up nearly as much. Therefore, it lasts longer. While Festool papers are not inexpensive, their system makes sanding, my least-favorite woodworking activity, at least tolerable. There are holes in the paper that match the holes in the sanding pads to remove virtually all of the sanding dust from the area when hooked up to a vacuum. The Granat paper is very effective and comes in a broad range of grits, so that it can be used from initial sanding to finishing. ... show more

  • Festool 497167 80-grit Granat on oak flooring
Style: P80 Grit Unit Count: 50.0
I am a remodeler. I use the Festool Rotex 125 on hardwood flooring for cutting in around walls and base cabinets, as well as for sanding small areas for repair jobs. With 80-grit Granat paper I can rough sand 4 sq. ft. of worn flooring per paper disc. At the current 2014 price of $34.00 per box of 50, that's 17 cents per square foot. I follow with 120 grit, then polyurethane. The Granat seems to last longer than the Rubin paper, but I don't have figures on the Rubin. After about 4 square feet of flooring the Granat starts burnishing the wood more than it cuts, and I swap it out. Festool's dust collector is very effective. It leaves even the worn-out paper looking clean and new. I do not have to mask off anything in the room where I am sanding -- it's that good. No dust, no cleanup. That saves a lot of time. ... show more

  • Great sandpaper. Makes sanding fast and clean!
Style: P80 Grit Unit Count: 50.0
This sandpaper works great on wood, softwoods/hardwoods. I also use it to remove water and oil based finishes. I occasionally use it to sand drywall which it also works on. The main thing is that it lines up with festool sandpaper holes for maximum dust extractions. Sander leaves no fine dust particles that are hazardous to your health. I also spend less time cleaning up after sanding. ... show more
