  • Dustless, efficient, cheap, fast,
Used it to blast the crud off mower deck that had been left in the field for years before replacing spindles and blades. I had power washed it in the before pic used 1 bag of screened sand in the second pic. I used a 3500 psi power washer with a 50 pound bag of play sand from HD. Tips: *wear a safety glasses, a hat, and something to cover your mouth, i felt like i ate a sand-sandwich 1. I screened the sand to remove the larger pebbles (almost filled a 16oz paper cup) that would have plugged the nozzle from one bag of play sand. 2. Keep the sand dry by hold the siphon hose included in the kit above the high pressure water coming out. 3. Keep the sand bucket above where you're working the siphon effect will take over but helps with no water overspraying in the dry sand. 4. Be prepared for flash rusting. Impressed with this enough to leave a review. Not a bad buy for 35. ... show more

  • Great device to add functionality to your pressure washer
Full disclosure – I received this product through Amazon Vine. However, I will do my best to provide a thorough, unbiased and accurate and informative review, regardless of whether I purchased the product outright or received the product through the Vine program. So much rust! So little time! Rust abounds on our property, everything from heavily used trailers, to tractor implements, to steel pipe fence braces and metal T-posts all need a refresh. I tried a wire wheel on a drill and quickly realized that it work take decades to get through all the currently rusted items (at which time I could start over on the new rust). After looking at a number of standalone sandblasters, I talked myself out off all of them (small units would take forever and large commercial units and media were cost prohibitive). When I saw this add-on to my existing pressure washer I thought it would be worth a try. The unit shipped quickly and arrived in a plain white box. It included all the components needed to attach to the pressure washer. The one page instructions were sparse, but sufficient to explain the connections. While I have a plethora of options in need of sandblasting, I decided to start with something small which in this case was rusty but straight T posts that I removed from a long run of perimeter fence. Before starting, I made a quick trip to my local big box home improvement store for *filtered* sand. (See tips below) Once everything was connected, I filled my 5 gallon bucket halfway full of sand, inserted the sand wand into the bucket and started the pressure washer. It took a short time to draw the sand in and then it started removing the rust from my tester T post. It took less than 10 minutes to remove the rust. The second post went considerably faster as I became more proficient. Now I only have ~60 more to go and I’ll be through the rest. Ugh. Overall, this a very affordable and effective option is you already own a pressure washer. I will continue to use it for many items on the property. Tips: • Make sure you hold the intake of the sand hose *above* the wand where the water mixes with it • Make sure that you buy sand that is sifted such as Quikrete commercial grade sand. Also note that Quikrete does not recommend that specific sand for abrasive blasting, but it worked fine for me. • Do not buy play sand unless it clearly says that it is filtered or shifted. • Some agriculture suppliers also sell sand specifcally filtered for blasting media • You should test with a scrap piece of the type of metal you're going to be blasting to determine the proper distance to remove paint or rust without potentially pitting soft metals • When you are done using the blaster replace the sand bucket with a water bucket and flush the line and flush the line and mixing wand out Safety • I chose to use goggles as opposed to the inexpensive glasses that were included in the kit. Amazon sells many pairs in the $10 to $15 range, that will protect your eyes so much better. Googles are cheap, eye injury not so much. • I wore a long sleeved work shirt, jeans, boots, and gloves, as I always do after a small pressure washing mishap years ago that taught me just how much damage a pressure washer can inflict on human flesh. Dress smartly folks! • Last, but certainly not least, using sand as an abrasive media may expose the operator to silica dust which is a known carcinogen. You can read about silicosis online. While it is quite possible that mixing with water greatly reduces exposure, I blasted outdoors and stayed upwind of the blasting. Anyone with respiratory issues should consider wearing a respirator. ... show more

  • It Works, but Instructions could Be Improved
This review is for the FENG PAI Pressure Washer Sandblasting Kit. Overall: 4 Stars I had no idea whether this device would work, but knew that the concept made sense from an aerodynamic standpoint. And it does! The instructions could be significantly improved, and I learned more about using the system (or how not to) by reading some of the other reviews. Keeping the sand completely dry is a must, and making sure that any mist doesn't blow-back into your sand supply is important. I also found it beneficial to run the sand through a sieve before using - you'd be surprised at some of the clumping and even smaller foreign objects in commercially supplied sand. If you're going to be sandblasting regularly you should probably invest in a dedicated sandblaster, but for the occasional job where that kind of expenditure doesn't make sense, this device could be a great stand-in. ... show more

  • Works
This Pressure Washer Sandblasting Kit works, but not really great. The instructions are awful, but once you figure out how to use it the kit does get the job done. It does seem to be well made and durable, so it should hold up well for a long time.

  • Works, safer than air blasters but expensive to use and messy
I have a 2,000 PSI pressure washer and was able to get this working with fine sand to clean granite steps. With chemical cleaners I got a very decent result, still not perfectly like-new look. I gave this sandblaster a try – well, actually a few tries, since my washer was clearly under-sized and only real fine and perfectly dry sand did the trick, bucket raised by a second person. There is clearly abrasion, but takes quite a bit of water volume to get results, there’s a lot of water carrying just a bit of sand. Maybe baking soda would have worked better, but that’s far more money that I am willing to throw at the problem. So, it works, the problem is my underpowered pressure washer so I would not fault the product rating. The way I see it, the main advantage of this method versus dry sandblasting is that there is no dust cloud and no ricocheting particles. On the downside, there is no reuse of the blasting material, and quite a mess of residue to clean after: my driveway had a psychedelic drawing pattern over it for a while, not as colorful but curvy and unjustifiably complicated, made of sand. Keep the neighbors on their tippy toes, never know what will happen in my driveway next. ... show more
