I picked up the Fender Squier Debut Series Telecaster as part of a simple, affordable setup, and it has easily exceeded my expectations. Way too good for the price. Squier is trying to crush the budget guitar market and they're doing it in style. Plays great right out of the box with very low 60 cycle hum, no sharp frets, and straight neck. This is no-brainer at this price point. Grab one and thank me later.

I bought this on sale for black Friday and it was a bit cheaper than regular price. Frets are super sharp. Like nipped and zero filing. Other than that it's pretty decent for the cheap price i paid. Expect to set it up and intonate it minimum as should be expected.

For the price it's a very good guitar, although I would say it's worth taking it to a guitar tech to adjust, on mine some frets were still quite square, but after adjustments it's super good. The pickups are good, I don't find them awesome, but they do the job, the finish is super clean and I loved the color. I plan on improving it overtime, but as it is, I think it would be an amazing guitar to learn, and it gives a lot of play for upgrades. ... show more

Bought on sale and it’s a great guitar for the money. These seem to be a replacement for the prior affinity line guitars, as the body and neck are a little thinner. That was a key selling point for me as I was looking for something a little bit lighter. It was playable out of the box, but I did a full set up, which included a little bit of fret leveling to get the action where I wanted it above the 12th fret. I ended up putting a hot rail in the bridge pickup slot and a tonerider pickup in the neck slot because that is what my set list requires. But the stock pickups were serviceable. ... show more

    • It’s better than you think

A solid choice for any level, especially at this price. I’ve always loved the Telecaster shape, and this one feels really nice. It’s very light, and the neck is very comfy. After I swapped the strings and set the intonation, it has no problem staying in tune. The only issue I had was the input jack, but I plan on upgrading that. I really like the satin finish on the body, and I find myself reaching for this one a lot more than my other guitars. The pickups sound good. The neck is very smooth, and the frets are a perfect fit. So just picked up my guitar, price was good since it's not a fancy one....basic plain telecaster. I pick up these types of guitars for signatures when I have backstage passes. The price was too low to pass up. I do have two issues though. One, certainly not playable right out of the box, the ends of almost ever fret were very sharp, luckily I have my cordless grinding tool from Amazon. Quality control should have caught that.
