  • Warmer Tone than Super Bullets
Style: Light, 9-42 Pattern Name: Strings
I use Fender's Bullet Strings exclusively for my American Strat because they're made to fit perfectly into the Strat bridge. I don't like the way ball end strings fit in there sort of haphazardly. Bullets go into the bridge perfectly every time and provide consistency. I have tried the Super Bullets which have a steel core, and I like them but I found their sound to be too edgy and sharp for my style. The Fender Original Bullet Strings in 9 Gauge can have a warmer, almost bluesy tone when I want them to, can do some country fill, and also sound good with overdrive. Being in a classic rock/country cover band and only having one axe on stage with me, I like that these strings can be versatile. I have found that I really like these strings and see no reason to change. Rock on, Fender! 🤘 ... show more

  • Good Strings are Good Strings
Style: Regular, 10-46 Pattern Name: Strings
Tone is very subjective, therefore what one finds pleasing there will be another who disagree's vehemently. The bullet anchors are designed to sit firmly in the block pockets which should provide more sustain...but can we hear a difference is another subject altogether. There is a difference between how an acoustic and electric solid body guitar recieve vibrations and transmit "sound" and there is a lot of snake-oil and plain old wive's tales regarding this subject. I read more bs from people who state to have XX years experience as well as commercial endorsements from people who you think would know better...so read up and educate yourself. Acidity of your sweat and string metallurgy is a factor and I do not have this condition so I cannot comment on how these strings holdup to such. Good and Affordable Strings imo. mind the hype regarding electric strings ... show more

  • Sweet on a Strat
Style: Regular, 10-46 Pattern Name: Strings
These strings surprised me. I don't know why I had a negative impression of Fender strings in the past, but I was wrong about them. They sound and feel good, hold tune better and last as long as others I've played. But I have not tried them on any other guitar, so my high rating is specific to the experience I've had with my 2010 American Deluxe Stratocaster SSS (synch tremolo with pop-in bar). It's worth noting that I never would have tried the Bullets if I hadn't fallen for that specific guitar and sold my other electrics. I HAD always used Ernie Ball electric strings, but every time I changed them on my Strat, the ball of the 1st string would get stuck down in the tremolo block. (I had to pull the block out and grip down low on the string with pliers to push it through ... Fortunately, I never had to do this during a gig, but it was bound to happen someday.) So, while I can't tell you how the Bullets perform on other guitars, I recommend that Strat players at least give them a try. They made my string changes fast and easy, but surprisingly also made tuning more stable and seem to have added a touch more sustain. ... show more

  • Perfect for My Strat
Style: Regular, 10-46 Pattern Name: Strings
I have been using D'Addario 10s exclusively on my Strat. I saw these and it made sense how the bullet end fits into the bridge channel so decided to try it. Put them on today and so far so good. I like the tone and it does seem the sustain is a little better. I will see how long they last compared to the less expensive D'Addarios. If they last as long I'll probably make the switch. ... show more

  • Has your Fender Stratocaster playing and sounding vintage
Style: Regular, 10-46 Pattern Name: Strings
Strings are totally subjective. We all have out preference, but if you're wanting to get the vintage Fender sound with the playability/stretched notes of bullets, you won't go wrong with these. Sure, they cost more than a lot of strings, but most 'vintage' stuff does cost more and these are pure nickel. It's the pure nickel tone that sets them apart. ... show more
