Description

The California Debut™ Redondo® CE features resilient laminate construction with a spruce top and sapele back and sides for satisfying tone, while a 25 ½” scale neck with a slim “C”-shaped profile provides an effortless playing feel. The onboard Fender electronics provide high-quality output for live amplification, recording and effects, as well as a convenient onboard digital tuner. Other noteworthy details include an oiled walnut fingerboard and bridge, sealed gear tuning machines for smooth and accurate tuning action, and a rich satin finish. An instantly recognizable Fender design feature, the 6-in-line headstock creates a straight string pull from the nut for optimal tuning machine performance, and places all tuners in a linear location for easy access. This is impressive all around, not just "for the money." Great finish. Fantastic looks. Very good tones. Very good playability. The action was just over 2mm at the 12th fret. I can get it lower without doing fret work. The tuners work fine, and are better than what comes on the Squier Deput series. The tuner is a fantastic feature and works very well, with precision. So far, it plays more like a $300 guitar than a $170 guitar. The strings it came with sound amazing, it's just the right size to fit in a standard 41-inch guitar case, and it also just looks awesome. I like how it has the electric guitar style neck, too. The quality is nice, you can see that it doesn't have top-tier electronics, but that's expected for a sub-$200 guitar. My niece turning pro caused me to give her my 1972 Gibson J-45, which she loves as it s a family heirloom with scuffs and such to show. II still felt the itch to have something to play so I bought this - doubtful it could replace the Gibson - the action is very good, sound much better than expected, overall appearance very nice. My Chinese banjos are impeccable in quality, and this is consistent with them. It's not at all a Gibson, but more than enough keep going for this 82 year old. ... show more

This is what I was looking for: a cheap well-made guitar to just knock around with. it was delivered quickly, very well packaged. It was immediately apparent that this is a budget guitar, definitely not an heirloom item. It's an unbelievably cheap Fender and it feels like it compared to my others, but it's about what I expected. The body feels light and cheap but the binding is quite good. Not a fan of the satin finish. The tuners are about what I expected, cheap but not terrible. The neck I thought was good. Fretboard is better than expected, frets are level and the ends needed about10 minutes of work, took a bit of relief off the neck, strings are also pretty good for this price. It plays well and sounds surprisingly good. Overall, I'm very pleased with this and the Fender headstock is a bonus. If you're looking for something like this, grab it now before the price goes back up. ... show more

★★★★☆ Great beginner guitar, but arrived with a small dent Overall, I’m very happy with this guitar. It looks beautiful, feels lightweight, and is very comfortable to hold and play. The strings are softer than I expected, making it much easier on the fingers, especially for beginners. It also stays in tune well and the built-in tuner is a nice bonus. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it arrived with a small dent on the back of the neck. It doesn’t affect the playability, but it’s disappointing to receive a brand-new instrument with cosmetic damage. Other than that, the guitar exceeded my expectations. If it had arrived in perfect condition, it would definitely have earned 5 stars. ... show more

Got this guitar for black Friday for $119 I think but this is every penny a $200 guitar. This feels more like a lucky pawn shop find and not ordering from Amazon. For a beat around the camp fire take anywhere and still have good tone and neck feel for cheap... this is your guitar.

Fender Redondo Debut this is a good guitar plays nice sounds good on amp. looks great nice feel to it. I like this guitar so much I have just bought another I own 3 now nice to have good extra guitar around for when others show up to play with you. If you're thinking of starting to play guitar have a low budget, I highly recommend these guitars you can't go wrong they play and sound so well. I know my guitars I have dozens of acoustic and electric guitars And I can say you can't find a better guitar at this price. Fender has always been really good at having low budget guitars to get you started playing because they want you to learn play enjoy music playing guitar. So yes, without a doubt I recommend this Guitar I have bought 4 so what does that say to you get you one and I almost forgot the free 30days of guitar lessons online is a great bounce too really good lessons will have you playing in no time at all. Definitely a beginner guitar, but man does this punch way above it's weight class for the price. The built in tuner is great as well. Looks good, feels good, and the action is low enough for beginners as well. Arrived pre-strung and in good condition. Would recommend.
