So I actually already have a pair of bow flex adjustable dumb bells that I am comparing this to. The weights are pretty dead on for the dumb bell and I only noticed a very slight variance so you won't have to worry about them being "out of balance" in your hand. It is slightly smaller than my bowflex and they adjust easily just like them as well. As for versatility they sadly suffer from the same problems as the bowflex. They are larger than if you simply had a standard dumbbell of each weight which makes it more difficult to do certain exercises. Like if you are lifting from the side straight and then rotating your wrist as you are doing the curl. You'll sometimes rub against your leg but honestly this is a sacrifice you make when you buy "adjustable" dumb bells. You save a lot of space but lose a bit of versatility. The design is pretty straightforward but I'm unsure if it will suffer the same fates that the bowflex do if you drop them and such. Because I know a lot of adjustable dumb bells can be a bit fragile I didn't drop them like I'd do a normal one. There are much more expensive ones that advertise you can beat them up without issue but since they didn't advertise that I am not really going ye or nay on that. They provide good value and they are good quality. If you want an adjustable I'd say give it a try.

For your home gym this set of adjustable dumbbells (multiple weights, one actual dumbbell) is going to be the best investment you can spend on. Instead of the old school set of individual dunbells in different weights, taking up room, now you have a whole set in a compact self storing package. Besides the good looks you will take notice to the thought put into these, with safety being a big thing. A simple turn of a dial results in anywhere from 5 to 52 lbs of weight. No need to add or removal individual plates, which also take up room. Now you can adjust from 2.5 to 5lbs at a time, all with the turn of a dial. The finish is not only good looking but appears it will be quite durable. The ergonomics of the bar are firmly placed mid spectrum so it’s not to big for smaller hands, or to spindly for big hands. Not the most grip to be afforded but not slippery when the hands get sweaty. Easy to use, wide range of available weight combinations, well built, sturdy, compact and time saving, can’t really ask for more.

This is a good set of dumbbells. By set I mean a complete set for one dumbbell that is adjustable. I did not get the impression that I was getting a pair of them, maybe the description was changed before I ordered. So I got exactly as what was described. Good points Easy to use easy to change the weight handle takes larger than average hands comfortably. Can't speak of gigantic hands though as I don't have them. Great for storage Cons The handle is pretty plain and smooth high price If the high price isn't an issue, these are great. Easier to adjust than others, very intuitive. The handle is smooth but that can be good or bad depending on your preference. It is not slippery smooth, just not as grippy as some. I love that all the weights are in one place. This makes a household of three all working out easy. It is just seconds to go from 5 pounds for an 80 year old, to 55 pounds if you want it. The scale rotates all the way so you can rotate whichever way you want without hitting a stop and having to reverse. If you are on your own and use one weight for long periods of time, this really makes little sense unless you want the easy storage aspect. If however you have several people that use dumbbells, this is so convenient it's hard to describe. It came with a safety strap preventing accidental drops of the weights. Removal was a pita. You use the supplied Allen key but getting the strap through the clamp was finicky. Since its only for transportation I threw mine away. If I was ever to do it again, I'd just cut the strap and save myself the hassle.

I ordered this barbell set primarily for use during PT following shoulder surgery. They are in the right weight range for the various exercises in shoulder PT. The enclosed instructions are not exactly informative, starting with a strap that goes around the handle during shipping. I finally had to just cut that off. There is also a small wrench and instructions about locks, which I can't even find. However, for actual use, these are working out great. Switching weights from 5 lb to 52.5 lb is as simple as during a dial on each end. Depending on the weight selected, you may end up with one or several plates on the unit, which can be spread out and cause some different torque sensations during the workout, but not a big deal. The whole tray fits easily in a small storage space. So far so good for use in PT and I'm sure this will also get used for general arm exercises down the road.

This is one high-quality and versatile adjustable dumbbell! I was kind of hoping for the price point that it would come with two dumbbells, but honestly, you get what you pay for and this dumbbell is worth the price. The weight adjustments are sturdy and lock in very tightly in comparison to the other set of adjustable dumbbells that I have from a major sports brand that also makes 5-52.5lb adjustable. When comparing the price of this adjustable to buying the individual dumbbells that make up the whole variety of weights with this adjustable dumbbell as well you will see the value, as most free weights are 80 cents to $1.50lb. The grip is nice and firm as well, the rubber doesn't feel like it slides when you are hoisting the dumbbell up, and it locks well in place on its base. Great buy for someone looking for a full range of weights without the space for the individual dumbbells.

Nice weights, only got the one but I'd order another. I like the aesthetic of the design and for sure it's a good looking addition to the home gym here. Easy to adjust by turning the dial and lifting. The base is solid and stable, nothing wrong with these at all and I appreciate non rolling design of the plates, these for sure stay where you put them down.
