The packaging was veryyy secure. It was a challenge to remove the plastic with my nails and plastic will never rip on a straight line, appreciate the perferation (?) though. Because I was opening it around midnight, and I was hungry from building my new bedframe all night, the mattress smelled like chocolate to me. Don't ask me why, but I found the smell rather pleasant, even though I shouldn't. The mattress inflated within thirty minutes. I prepped for bed and had the most surreal rest. Once I sunk in nicely, I imagined this would be the best description of a [firm] cloud. As soon as head hit the pillow, I was gone. When my alarm went off, I literally cried because I didn't want to get up. I initially thought that I was sleeping so good because I was super tired from staying up late, but that wasn't the case. For the rest of the week, my body was craving the mattress and I would pay off my sleep-debt. This mattress is firm yet soft, just what I prefer. I bought this to be the base mattress to add a memory foam topper to. This was one of the few I could find that wasn't 12-14 inches deep in a king size. Many thanks to the manufacturer for offering it in a 6 inch depth! It is absolutely a sturdy, REAL mattress even at only 6 inches high. We do have it sitting on box springs. This is not a topper (Yay!) And if you buy the king, it is a genuine king size that is an absolute beast to stuff inside a dust mite cover single handedly. LOL The mattress has a neat feature on the bottom of its cover which is little rubber dots to keep the mattress from sliding around. Great if you're not planning on packing it into your own dust cover. Not a complaint for me, because obviously, I wasn't installing the mattress as intended. I use this product to sleep on nightly. I love the comfort. It is easy to remove and wash the cover and the mattress is light enough for to move it from place to place if need be. The 8-inch gel memory foam draws heat away from my body and is cozy and conforms to my body for a really good nights sleep. It feels medium firm, but I would say plusher than a firm mattress. It includes a soft cover that is washable. The soft cover is nicely detailed all around w/ four-way stretch and works w/ the memory foam. The memory foam keeps you cool during sleep and reduces pressure points and seems to align my spine. I've recommended this product to friends and family. It's easy to unpack and simply the best mattress I've owned. When I unwrapped it from the package, it inflated pretty fast. It probably was done within the first six hours. It’s not as high as I expected it to be. However, it is very comfortable. I got on it, and it felt amazing. It’s much better than getting a blowup bed. I’m just moving into an apartment, so this has helped a lot, and then, as I get a budget to buy a bed frame, I could still put this on the top of the bed. And I feel amazing. I’ve gotten a professional bed, but at a fraction of the price. There is no odor or smell to it. You have to roll out the mattress once you get it, and it stays in its place. Bought this (twin 5") for my 4 year old and put on a platform frame so no box spring. He's happy. My 12 and 14 year olds said it was good and they couldn't feel the bars either. I'm not sure which product I bought that it's going to show but also bought the twin 8" for my 12 year old, platform style bed also, and it's super comfy even for an adult. I don't recommend going under 8 inches if you are closer to or over 200lb. I've bought enough of these types of mattresses and not had any issues with expandability. I'm not saying I'm a pro but I have some tips that may help. 1st, if the mattress has a removable cover take it off. If it doesn't skip to 3rd. 2nd, make sure the "muslin" cover over the memory foam isn't tight on the corners or edges. 3rd, GENTLY, so you don't pull the layers apart, find the bottom corner on what is usually a thicker foam, and pull down. Doing this, all of my mattresses have expanded correctly within an hour with out having the corners do the weird curve down thing or still be smooshed. ... show more

Extremely comfortable. I have back problems from when I almost snapped my spine in three places in Berzillian Jujutsu. Also have my hips shifting during pregnancy (starting the third trimester) and this mattress is still comfortable! It supports where I need it to the point where for belly support, all I need is a blanket because the mattress does the rest. My hips don't hurt while I lay in it and if I'm laying down on anything else, my hips tend to lock up to the point where I can't move or lift them at all while I can get up and down, even shift my weight easier than I used too with this. I have levoscoliosis and spondylitis so comfortable is a relative term. What I know for sure is that this mattress is 6 inches not 8. And when I sit on the side of the bed it squishes down pretty flat. (I weigh 150 pounds) So I put a 4 inch memory foam on top of it and now it’s more like a grown up’s mattress. It came securely packaged, rolled up and well wrapped. There’s no bad odor at all, and it took a day to fluff up. All in all, a very good product for the price, delivered to my door in just a couple of days. Not a firm mattress by any means. But still a good deal. ... show more
