If you had asked me two months ago if I’d ever own a cat, I would’ve said absolutely not—I’m highly allergic. But life had other plans. Just a few weeks ago, I heard a faint meow from high up in a tree in our yard. I grabbed a ladder, climbed up, and rescued a scared little cat. That cat is now Louie—our newest family member. Naturally, my girlfriend Rachel and I decided to spoil him just like we do our dogs. That’s where this cat tree came in. We absolutely love this cat tree—and more importantly, so does Louie. It’s covered in a super-soft material that’s gentle on his paws but still holds up to rough play. It’s also incredibly sturdy and very stable, we attached ours to the wall as it comes with a wall harness for added stability and sturdiness. We really wanted something strong and sturdy because Louie is part Maine Coon and larger than we expected. We didn’t want anything too tall or wobbly, especially for a cat who’s still getting used to indoor living. This one is just the right height—tall enough for him to climb and stay active, but low enough that we’re not worried about falls. The built-in scratch pads are a big hit (and a big win for our furniture), and the dangling toys keep him entertained for long stretches. My girlfriend’s daughter loves playing with Louie, and this cat tree is the perfect height for her to interact with him safely and easily. Assembly was a breeze, and the overall build quality feels solid and long-lasting. Best of all, the price was very reasonable, especially considering how well-made and multifunctional it is. 10/10 – Highly recommend this to anyone with a new cat or even an older one who loves to scratch, climb, and lounge in comfort. This is my first cat tree. It’s medium size. Very sturdy. The fur fabric is very soft. Very easy to put together and if you make a mistake, very easy to take apart. The included picture instructions were very easy to follow. As far as the hardware, everything you need is included. Two things screwed me up. 1) The instructions did not specify that the fur went on top and the wood went on the bottom. Once I took it apart and started all over again, everything went smoothly. 2) The cover has elastic. It didn’t say to cut the elastic but I did and took it out because I didn’t want to worry about the kittens hurting themselves or getting tangled in it. The cat tree/cover works very well without the elastic, it’s actually not needed. I highly recommend this cat tree. Great value for the money. ... show more

    • Sturdy tree the cats actually use. Can be put together by 1 person

It is a little daunting when you start taking the pieces out of the box. I was able to put it together by myself in 3 hours. It would be quicker to do with 2 pairs of hands. Everything needed is in the box with a couple of extra screws of each type. There are 13 steps but do-able. The diagrams are clear. I suggest you look at it a couple of times before actually putting the pieces together. It is sturdy, but all steps need to be completed before it feels sturdy, so don't be concerned at step 6 or 7. It is very soft & the cats like it. My baby cat loves to climb to the top & play with the toys hanging off along the way. The top is her new place to sleep. For the money, this was a pretty good tree tower. It's fairly sturdy, it only took about an hour to put together, and it looks decent. A better person could have done it a bit faster. The cat took to it right away, having fun going up and down on it. The carpet is probably not going to hold out for the long haul. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Kinda cheap, not going to last very long. But it’s medium sized, not too big but tall enough that the kitties like it. Got it for a new kitten, older cats don’t use the upper levels but like the cave. Kitten does love using the little toy hole as a door. I don’t like how it has soft walls, they’re totally going to rip eventually. But it should last through the kitten year I guess. Fairly easy to assemble. Not logical, but not difficult. ... show more

Pretty straightforward assembly. The kit comes with a wrench, the only tool needed for assembly. It does come in handy to have a second set of hands at a couple of points in the process. Our younger cat loves it - she naps on the top shelf, and she loves to play with the attached toys. Our older cat hasn't taken to it yet. We earlier had a smaller version from the same manufacturer, and it held up quite well, so I expect the same from this larger version. ... show more
